After beating Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght on Friday Derry are now in a strong position for the 2nd Europa League place. More important from our perspective they come into this weekends cup game in a great run of form having won 4 games in a row without conceding a goal

A large crowd should make for a cracking atmosphere for what is a really big challenge.

Sunday can't come soon enough for me!

Anything else we should know?

The match kicks off at 6.30 p.m. and it must be played to a finish on the night with no replay in the earlier rounds of the competition this year. Extra-time and penalties are required to find a winner should the match end level after 90 minutes.

Season tickets are also not valid as per competition rules.

Team news

Dane Massey remains sidelined with a calf strain however Thomas Stewart made his return from injury on Monday evening starting the victory over Galway. We have no suspensions to contend with.

With Massey out Vemmelund will be shunted out to the left which is a pity as he is our best centre half by some margin. Interesting to see if Stephen O'Donnell starts - seems to me that he is not automatic first choice when fit & that SK prefers Shields and Benson.

Expecting a tight game with only a goal in it

Kenny seemed very happy with Grimes at left full in Galway last Monday. He might be tempted to keep him in today.

Excellent performance, should have been out of sight at half time. Delighted for Mountney, his second goal was beaut.

Vemmulund was absolutely outstanding. Super player

Cracking game performance and result.

Best performance of the season. And against a real top 4 side who lets be honest would've fancied a cup run.

Aaron mceneff is a sweet sweet player. If we could add someone to the panel who could win you a league he would be my man

Excellent display and a really good match too. Probably our best all season, and some great individual displays, especially in Duffy and Vemmelund.

We look so strong on the wings, Mountney coming alive with a great showing and Duffy on the other side, I'm still not convinced on Stewart but I think he laid on the final goal with a good pass. He will be needed though as back up to McMillan now Kilduff has gone. Shields and McGrath are great options to take one, plus we still have to blend in the big summer signing in Connolly. Crazy to think, only 4 more home leagues to go, plus any in the cup if we are drawn at home.

I heard the draw for the next round is on at 630 pm tomorrow ? Matches scheduled for two weeks time anyway.

Just to have a moan for the sake of it - what is the story with the music. Are they trying to give everyone a headache? Not only does the volume make your ears bleed, it kills the atmosphere before the game, just before the start of the second half and at the end when you want to cheer the team off.

Having a conversation at half time is an impossible task. Is it the same in the stand or is it just the shed?

Fabulous performance throughout, delighted for Mountney, his second goal was hit so sweet. Something has happened since before the Limerick game when in the second half we played like we did at tonight's game. I'd suggest Stephen Kenny's contract extension has a lot to do with it. Without getting carried away, I have a great feeling about this Dundalk set up in what remains of the season & beyond, for next season getting the league trophy back in Oriel will be a priority no doubt.

Back to tonight's game, I've been a critic of Duffy but his efforts tonight were first class, I trust he can keep going & continue to show us what he can do. Vemuland was superb, MOTM with Mc Eleney not far behind.

Hope we go to Buncrana next Sunday & do it again & cement second place in the league.

There is no problem having a conversation in the stand at half time, you can hear the music but it's not deafening.

Great result, fantastic performance, few missed opportunities and a few lucky escapes, but it's another clean sheet with more positives to take away than negatives.

That was a performance that mirrored the best of the team over the 3-in a-row period.

The outlook is more positive than at any time this season.
