Don't deserve to be a goal down, but we would not deserve a lead either!

That's a really disappointing performance and result.

The late goal puts a braver face on the result than we deserved

Three at the back didn't work then. Worth the experiment. Move on.

First 25 mins we were very good and a different class to Bohs. Goal and lots of injuries disturbed our rhythm then second half they went for it and we never looked like we left the changing room until last 10. Back 5 did not work and Sean Hoare for such a talented footballer has an Achilles heel of giving the ball away with some bad passes out of defence, not his best game. Still in some ways good to get beat so they can peak again for Nov 3. Decent crowd from Dundalk considering

No problem at all with Perth trying a few things. Last night was the time to do it but nothing worked and all decisions were baffling from the formation, line up and subs. I can only imagine the idea was to combat the 5 at the back that Rovers play with a possibly of playing it on final. It simple didn't work though.

The only silver lining was the impact of Lotefa. Looks a decent prospect and unlike any of our other strikers with pace and a very direct style. Scared the bejaysus of their defenders

Doubt they're trying anything with Rovers in mind. I'd say for that you could nearly pick the starting 11 and formation now.

I wonder if it's more to do with Europe. Massey isn't a wing back and their opening goal came from a ball played behind him. But the analysis of what didn't work for us could be pointing to our 4-2-3-1. All the teams we faced found it easy to shut down our wide players and isolate Hoban. It was left to our number 10 to do all the creating and McEleney largely failed at that.

I wonder if they're looking to move to a three man midfield, with more attacking from full back, which is what all the better teams seem to be doing.

I'd almost forgotten what it was like to be sh1te! After a bright enough opening it was fairly grim. The ones who came away with their reputations enhanced were Shields, Duffy and Hoban. Disappointing performance and result. The tactical experiments didn't work, but I suppose it was a good time to do it.
