We’re playing this week because we’re the Champions of Ireland. Nobody else is playing because they’re nothing. We should never dismiss any opportunity to highlight what we are.

Very very small crowd by the looks of it. I'd say a few hundred

Apparently some dipshits have done us proud with a ‘ra flag and provo songs.

Why can’t we have nice things?

Indicative of the interest in an All Island League?

There is a fair auld crowd here. Remember it is a 12k seater stadium. Easily about 2.5 to 3k at it. Not playing well at all but then again Maybe if the wankers who are singing oh ah up the RA and celtic symphony actually got behind the team and concentrated on singing Dundalk songs we might improve!

Game is on live on sky on Premier Sport..Dundalk poor first half , had 1 chance only from a Boyle header that the keeper tipped onto the bar..
We badly need a creative central midfielder for next year that can score and create chances..

Set up nicely for Monday at 1-1. Should be a good game to end the season. Hope people come out and give the Champions a good send off.

Yes the amount of backward and sideways passes were quite incredible. Roy Carroll was 100% on the money by saying Dundalk just didn't move it fast enough. Chris Shields was our most incisive passer. Hoban and McGrath disappointing with Jarvis playing well.

Much improved second half and would feel confident going into the second leg. I really would like to see Georgie Kelly get a start. Had a chance to win it at the end. Duffy looked lively second half too. Positives to take from the second half, not much from the first.

Very disappointing from our crowd to hear that and yes the crowd did swell as the game started.

Interesting that Carroll said that. Remember Gartland’s interview with Gavin where he criticised fans for wanting the ball moved faster? The slowness of our play has been a feature all season.

Sometimes playing out from the back can test the patience of some fans, but retaining possession and pulling the other team out of shape is simply part of our modus operandi and has served us well. But there is a time to move the ball quickly - precisely when this patient play has pulled the opposition out of shape!

Similarly the opportunities presented to transition from defense to attack are regularly lost by slow passing. Has there ever been a successful counter attacking team who are noted for slow passing when on the counter attack?

Jarvis best player on the pitch tonight. Thought 2nd half we were more at it.

Exactly right, but you have to move the ball quickly while retaining possession if you want to create space, which is what we did at our best but is something we didn’t do in many games before August. Other teams found holding shape easy in many games
