Really outstanding achievement by Gary Rogers
Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers will return to where it all begins on Friday night and move ever closer to a piece of League of Ireland history.

The 38-year-old’s outing at Tolka Park will be the 565th league game of his career. That will put him level in joint second on the all-time appearance list with seven time league winner Owen Heary with only Limerick great Al Finucane now ahead of the pair on a whopping 634 appearances.

While that might be a tall order it is not impossible.

If he continues playing for the next two seasons after this one (end 2022) he will almost certainly set a new all-time record

Dundalk FC goalkeeper Gary Rogers is set to give up two of his iconic jerseys from the club's memorable 2016 season in aid of the Jack & Jill Foundation.

The 38-year-old is auctioning his match worn jersey from the club's Champions League qualifier against Legia Warsaw in the Polish Army Stadium from August 2016 while a GoFundMe page has been set up so that people can donate towards the charity with a chance of winning another match worn jersey from the side's league success of four years ago.
