Evidence so far this season suggests otherwise ;)

Delighted we'll actually get to see this, and it being on TV. Here's hoping for a cracker to show what we've got in the league (or, I'll take a really shit game and any sort of win for us, I'm not fussy).

It'l be interesting to see how McEleheny performs. I was worried about how we'd cope with him down on Turners cross but McCormack did brilliantly on him. He'll have his hands full again.

Would ye expect this one to sell out?

I'm not convinced with O' Donnell either & I'd prefer to see Benson on from the start, otherwise O'Donnell may start & last 20 - 30 mins if we're lucky. Shields is a must for this, particularly the last number of outings, he has been one of our best performers. Regarding Centre half, Barrett to retain his position along side Vemmulund, I said before, this pairing is the future in my humble opinion. Duffy & Mc Grath either side of midfield & Mc Millan up front, hopefully he will bag a couple for us. I'd expect Gannon & Massey to hold their place. Finally, Rogers in goal, sure who else !!!.
Stating the obvious perhaps, but this is a must win for Dundalk, anything less & it's over over. Let's fill Oriel with a loud Dundalk support & help Stephen Kenny & his team to victory, it will be a great tonic with the break ahead & the second half of the season to come as well as this season's European adventure, all to look forward too.

I think it's over anyway, bar the most spectacular Devon Loch choke job in football history. But a win is important. We need to remind everyone (including ourselves) that we can step up and outplay *anyone* in this League, that we are, in fact the three-in-a-row defending Champions, that we're still the big dogs in this League and to get us mentally right for the training break and the upcoming European games. After recovering from the debacle that was Bray/Rovers/Galway a defeat would be a bit of a disaster.
There's only one word for that - magic darts...

It's probably the first time this season that Stephen Kenny has a full squad to choose from.

Any team news?

Dundalk have no suspension worries and may be able to welcome back injured pair Steven Kinsella and John Mountney to the squad from hamstring and groin injuries respectively. Other than that manager Stephen Kenny has a full squad to choose from.

A chance to put lots of daylight between ourselves and Bray. The negative aspect is an unbelievable 18 points adrift of Cork.

Or to narrow the gap to 12 points and restore some missing pride and belief?

Further from Bolger:

They are on a bit of a run themselves and unbeaten in three matches.

There was me thinking we had 4 clean sheets in a row!

Chris Shields:
Cork are playing well and all credit to them, you don't get that many points ahead in the table by playing badly, they are a well-oiled machine at the minute, winning a lot of games, but we want to put a stop to that this weekend,"

Just really hope we show up tonight and do what we all know we are capable of. I still don't think Cork are as good as some people think and I feel if we create an atmosphere like the last two crunch games in Oriel then it could be a watershed moment for this team and its new players. Still sticks in my mind the knob Mc Nulty celebrating in front of us down in Turners cross earlier in the year.

I`m really looking forward to the match, should be a great ‘bite’ to it. I`m not even bothered about the gap anymore, it is what it is. We lost stupid games away to Galway and home to Bray, not to mention 3 others so we can have no complaints where we are. For now, its all about getting ourselves into peak form and condition as we enter into the critical euro period, depending on the draw, we can still have a successful season if we target winning the cup.

Back to tonight, this should be a cracker, it’s the first time Cork are not favourites for a match all I season I think (DLK 6/4, Cork 7/4), anyway I`m feeling bullish, I really think we’ll win tonight, still going with either 2-0, or maybe 2-1, I don’t think we’ll win the league mind, but a win tonight would be fantastic.

Interesting to see what changes if any he makes to the starting xi v Pats, I`m guessing it will be the same line up, but that means Benson missing out, he’s a very important player and would be ideal for a match like tonight. Big big performances required from all personnel, McEleney is one, bags and bags of skill, tonight would be good time to really turn it on again and show us what he can do on the big stage.

Frothing at the mouth for this
Cork will probably win the league easily and may achieve the highest points total which would be a very admirable achievement.

They are not going to beat us on our patch though

There should be an apology for that performance tonight. Horrendous.

Well done Cork. Super fit and playing like a team. I need to go off and calm down after that .
