The ///th Louth derby.Usually a good game. How many are we up to? (derby matches)
Drogs hate a nil aller of late. We're looking to bounce back from the Cork loss.

Quiet on here this week!

Earlier in the season I'd wondered if this one would be tickets in advance only, but luckily we're stuck in midtable obscurity, so it'll be more manageable. Drogheda have looked poor and there's no reason we shouldn't win this with a bit to spare.

Will be interesting to see what kind of line-up we start with after the mini-break.

Any team news?

Dundalk have no suspension worries this week and have almost a fully fit squad to choose from with Steven Kinsella (back) the only absentee for the short trip on the M1. John Mountney and Shane Grimes return after injuries.

I'm trying to think of my last game in Utd Park, def was at the 4-1 defeat start of 2014, might have been in 2015 not sure, but decided I`m going tonight, it should be a good game plus its the only league away match there this season, always a good atmosphere.

A good performance and a win is required after the horror show against Cork.

With Bray facing Derry tonight and with home matches against Harps and Galway coming up, this really is our chance to help cement 2nd place before our trip to the seaside on the 30th. So important to stay ahead of the chasing pack before our European campaign. Excited about this one tonight. Should be a cracking atmosphere esp with the Killian Brennan factor!!
I'm going 2-0 to the good guys and a draw in Bray

Like to see Gartland and Mountney come back in. Side needs a bit more fight in it.

I assume SK is going to stick with McEleney as a no. 10 for the season.

It's great to be back & back with a bang !!! Great performance & result, yes against a poor Drogheda side but when we got going there was always going to be one winner & let's be honest it could have been 10.

Gartland, on his return was strong, although not troubled, the defending throughout was strong. Interesting O"Donnell played the 90 mins, perhaps Stephen Kenny is thinking ahead for Europe ? McEleney strike was superb & another candidate for goal of the season. Delighted for Mc Millan for his brace, fully deserved. Kilduff also noteworthy for his goals. It's a great start to the 2nd half of the season but that's all it is, we will have to keep this momentum going & see where it takes us both home & abroad.

Finally, fantastic support from Dundalk with the exception of the flare brigade who again let OUR club down.

Keeping an eye on things from work and it seemed that we only really dominated after the red card. Is that the case or would the goals have arrived anyway?

Who knows? We were definitely on top, but with 11 v 11 the game was open for either team

Good win and nice to see the goals spread around too, but apart from first 25 or so we were not tested in any way, it turned out to be a stroll in the park. Good for confidence and hopefully will kick start the season just in time for Europe.

Idiots letting off flares at least twice, I saw parents covering their kids faces the smoke was so thick, was same for everyone, morons have absolutely no interest in the fines being incurred and I've said it many times, their cheerleading mates are as much to blame.

So minus the crystal ball I can take it if the game was open for either team 11 v 11 that the red card dramatically influenced the result. We may have been on top but Drogheda havent conceded in 4 games prior to tonight so the red card flatters the result for us. I would have hoped for a better indication of form after the break and heading in to Europe.
