Bohemians V Dundalk | Weds 5 July | 7.45pm | Dalymount Pk

Postby Ezeikial » Sun Jul 02, 2017 12:23 pm

Presumably the only decision to make about the starting line-up from last Friday night is whether Dylan Connolly makes his debut from the start or from the bench.

Either way, it is really important that the momentum from the Bray match is continued. If so, 3 points will surely follow and leave the team in great shape for tackling Rosenborg

I think it would be crazy not to start him especially if he's going to play any part against Rosenborg. I wouldn't be surprised if Kenny rotated a couple more players and you'd assume O'Donnell and possibly McEleney will be rested if they're carrying knocks. The league is over we should be focusing on getting ourselves ready for the match on Wednesday week not risking players

Thinking off driving up to this, anyone know of the best/safest place to park?

The streets off St Peters Road (Cabra Park / Norfolk Rd) tend to be a good bet for on street parking. If you wanted to play it safer, many Dundalk fans park in the Hedigans / Brian Boru pub car park. Although it is pay parking, the signs say it is free to use for pub patrons!

Yeah, good spots. Also parking at glasnevin cemetery, bit more of a walk though. Park down Iona road or Lindsay road which are just off botanic road as well are very safe.

If McElhaney or O'Donnell need to be rested then is important to do so. Connolly in for sure. Start him. Very excited about his arrival.

Will watch Rosenberg performance tomorrow night in full. Only saw bits of the second half of their last game. Looks easy for them in the Norwegian league.

We have been taking decent crowds to Dalymount in recent years, seems to really suit both the travelling fans from the town and those based in the city, I'll be heading over after work myself, really looking forward to it.

I'd definitely start Connolly, agree on resting McEleney and O'Donnell probably wont be considered after his injury scare, good chance for Shields and Benson in the middle, I'd go with Connolly wide left and Duffy on the right, maybe have a look at McGrath in the no 10 role. He might also make a change to central defence.

With Shamrock Rovers losing again and likely to lose plenty more and Bray about to meltdown, second place and Euro qualification is pretty much in the bag. With that in mind it has to be about resting key players, playing players with something to prove and trying out systems, set pieces and so on. Connolly has to start. No point signing him if we don't integrate him immediately with an eye on Rosenborg. And even still I think we'll win.

Team news

Conor Clifford is ruled out with an achilles injury while captain Stephen O’Donnell is very doubtful with a hamstring injury that he picked up against Bray Wanderers last Friday. There are no other injury concerns or suspensions for the Lilywhites.

No great surprise that previews of tonights game are dominated by quotes and comments on the Bray debacle

Poynton, O'Connor and Dalton all unavailable for Bohs, first two due to the loan arrangement, latter not registered.

Connolly in. Slightly surprised he's risking McEleney. Hope we score a couple early doors and whip him off at half time.

Total stalemate so far. Improvement needed for second half

Connolly gone off after doing more or less nothing. Maybe there's loads of examples to prove me wrong, but can't think of any electrifying debuts for us in recent years.
