CONNOLLY: CONFIDENT
The Lilywhites host Limerick FC at Oriel Park on Friday night and the newest member of the squad reckons if his teammates play to their capability then they can get the three points they are aiming for.

“I think they’re mid-table so they’ll be looking to pick up points. They’re a decent side and they’ll come here and work hard so we’ll have to match their hard work and out play them and hopefully we’ll get the result that we want.”

Team news

Manager Stephen Kenny has a fully fit squad to choose from this weekend with Patrick McEleney returning to the panel after recovering from a groin injury which has kept him out of the last two league matches.

Maybe a few changes with one eye on Monday?
Rogers
Gannon Hoare Vemmulund Massey/Grimes
Mountney Shields O'Donnell Benson Connolly
McMillan

Poor oul Dane Massey never gets a day off. But it would be no harm to throw in Shane Grimes. Not much point in risking McEleney.
Any chance Clifford might get a game? Surprised he wasnt let go if he is no longer in SKs plans. No doubt he commanded a hefty wage.

I cant see Clifford coming from the 5th tier in England being on a top wage. Boreham Wood are far from a top side in Essex alone to be offering much more than a basic semi-pro contract. That he has stayed on the books maybe there is a chance for him to make some mark with us!

Under normal circumstances you'd think about resting lads for Monday, but with two lacklustre performances following the disappointment in Norway you'd feel the first choice 11 needs to get out of their funk a bit with a solid victory.

Clifford has been out of the side longer than any other player who had been first choice. I assumed he was kept because no one else is interested in him to be honest. If ever a player blew a tremendous opportunity... barring an injury crisis I don't see any way for him back now... ... probably rock up in Cork next year and play like Paul Scholes!
There's only one word for that - magic darts...

That period in the second half when we scored the two goals was some of the best football played in the league this season by Dundalk. Limerick were swept away in a tidal wave of Dundalk attack. Mc Eleney's goal was just another example of how good a player he is & one wonders will we be able to hold on to him.
Great to get back to winning ways, hopefully this can continue as we in a very important two weeks or so with two cup games & a league meeting with Derry.
