Dundalk can't afford to lose top players on free transfers again, insists Stephen Kenny
The Lilywhites did not pocket a cent from the Patrick McEleney and David McMillan transfers

Re: SK. 2020
O'Neill & Keane supposedly off to Stoke gaining traction, would hate to see SK go from us but I'd bloody love it if he got the Ireland job and did well all the same. If's/ buts/ maybes at the moment though!
Ian Foster: (On the expectations level at Dundalk): "That's why you want to be involved in management. If I don't do well I'll do my shopping in Newry!"
Ian Foster: Last seen heading for Newry.

SK has work to do here. McCarthy for me if Stoke give the iob to the current FAI two. There is a lot going on behind the scenes at Ipswich and he might be glad to go.

It would be great for him to get it but I doubt he would get it. But in the absence of anyone else it could be 50/50. Sure Stan got it once!!! :-0thecaptain wrote:O'Neill & Keane supposedly off to Stoke gaining traction, would hate to see SK go from us but I'd bloody love it if he got the Ireland job and did well all the same. Totally agree, Dundalk a much better job. Ireland team are in the mire. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Re: SK. 2020
I'm as patriotic as the next man, but winning trophies at Dundalk is far more important to me than any success at international level.
If Stephen Kenny left now to take up the international job, it would be like a death in the family

Re: SK. 2020
He might very well get the Ireland job one day and I'm sure he has those ambitions. I think though he might want to achieve a lot more at club level and with us in Europe and have another crack at the group stage first.
It's always hard moving up from this level to International level but it has been done before, I just think he he has a nice project which he is more than happy with at the minute.
His time will come one day to manage at the highest level. I'm sure of that.

Re: SK. 2020
Stephen Kenny remains equal third in the betting for next Ireland manager at 12/1 behind
Mick McCarthy, Roy Keane, Neil Lennon and level with Paul Clement.
I'm all for ABS (Anyone But Stephen)
