Derry City V Dundalk | Sun 20 Aug | 2:30pm | Maginn Park, Buncrana

Postby Ezeikial » Wed Aug 16, 2017 1:12 pm

Unusual day and time for a league match, but makes it very accessible for those interested in travelling.

After last weeks excellent performance - and the fact that Derry will want to redeem themselves - makes for what could be an excellent match.

A Dundalk victory would fairly much wrap up 2nd place, while Derry will be eager to get the 3 points to consolidate the automatic 3rd place Europa League spot

DERRY CITY: Kenny Shiels urges players to bounce back quickly from Cup exit
KENNY Shiels has urged his players to put Sunday’s demoralising FAI Cup loss to the back of their minds and concentrate on getting their season back on track as they prepare to re-engage in battle against Dundalk at Maginn Park this weekend.

If Derry win they will be just 4 points behind us and our second place will be under pressure

Team news

Dylan Connolly is suspended after accumulating 8 yellow cards so he misses out while Jamie McGrath is sidelined as he is suffering from appendicitis. Dane Massey is fully fit once again having recovered from his calf strain and played 90 minutes on Sunday.

Not sure on that.

I have family from round the inishowen peninsula and as a child I used to be sent up around the area during the summer, Carndonagh to be exact. From recollection once the weather is good almost all of derry goes there on a spin like we would to carlingford, d rawk, gyles quay.

Won't be able to make it but it's a beautiful area and plenty to do of you can't get in anyhoo

I think O Donnells football career is drawing to a close he can't put a run of games together now at all , plays one or two games now misses four or five great player when fit but sadly can't depend on him now this will probably be his last season with us unless he joins the coaching staff.

4-0 at half time, incredible performance by all accounts.

Summer football is bullshit, season should only be starting now...
