Everton forward Sam Byrne is expected to be one of the new faces. The 22-year-old Dubliner moved to Manchester United from St Joseph’s Boys in 2011 before making the switch to Merseyside three years later. He is out of contract at Goodison Park this summer and has represented Ireland at every age group up to U21 level.

Has the takeover disrupted pre-season in terms of signings? Looks like we will be either starting the Bray game with Hoban, who wont be match fit, or a striker who has been at the club for around a week. Or a makeshift centre forward.

Edit...Forgot about Murray. Is he a striker or a number 10?

Think Murray is a 10 but knows were the goal is so I wouldnt be too worried about starting with him up top.

I always viewed Murray as coming to play no 10 for us, even though he played in a variety of roles for Galway last year. He can of course play up top, but I think SK will play him most of his as a no 10.

I thought the new Hungarian is a striker ???

He’ll be with the squad nearly 3 weeks by the time the Bray match comes around

Good comment although again I think he's an advanced midfielder

Stephen kenny in an interview with gavin McLaughlin on dundalk sport alluded that the Hungarian was more of an attacking midfielder than a striker.

Attacking midfielder:

“Krisztian is a very talented player and we are delighted to get him,” Kenny told Dundalk Sport on Sunday night.

He’s only 23 and his best years are ahead of him but he also has good experience. He has played in the Eredivisie and in Serie B and was obviously at Liverpool so he’s a talented player.

“He’s an attacking midfield player and he can play in a few positions there. It’s probably an area where we have competition but we’ll need it because we’ll have a lot of games.”

Ok. Good stuff. Maybe be this is the guy who’ll take Finn’s place.
Good options in midfield so.. himself, the skipper, shields, benson, chevdukis and Georgie fighting over 3 places ( although 2 of them are crocked )

What’s the story with Sam Byrne - he wasn’t named on the team sheet tonight.

We badly need a striker (or two).

Without a doubt. SK knows this and presumably will get this sorted.
