Murray would be a great signing and would add a nice touch to the attack. McEneff would be box office. Get him in. He is well worth the transfer fee. It will remain to be seen of Derry will sell though. Then again his sale could fund a lot of replacements for them.

Good signings on Friday by the way, Hoban being the obvious stand out, the other two are decent also.

There is no fcuking perch. Would ya ever knock it off going on about their perch and go back to reading Alex Fergusons autobiography or quoting building regulations.

Hehehe! No argument on winning the Champions League by then? At least one reads my posts on 'building regulations'!

AGENT BACKING Robbie Benson’s agent has hit out at St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright for claiming he is asking for too much money
“I think the comment was unfair to an ambitious young footballer like Robbie."

Bit of a strange lot. Jarvis is a good left back, but does that mean Massey's on the way out? Or is Jarvis coming in to fill the 3-games-a-season Shane Grimes role? Folan was at the centre of a catastrophically bad defence at Galway. If Hoban can recreate his form of 2014 it'll be great, but is he going to be at that level after 3 very patchy years? The prospect of McMillan playing off Hoban though..... !

2016 season Massey was one of our Players of the Season imo. Not 2017 unfortunately. He was at fault for a number of goals which cost us at the start of the season AND at the end. Maybe SK thinks 2 top fullbacks will pushing each other will bring the best out of Massey again

Dean Jarvis can also play left side of midfield,

It will be interesting to see whether it is Massey or Jarvis who becomes the regular left back

I previously posted that I was underwhelmed at the prospect of Stephen Folan being signed. After hearing him speak at the Marshes event on Friday and reading what he has to say in the Demo interview, I have revised my outlook.

Stephen Kenny has not signed many duds and this guy clearly has the right attitude and appears totally committed to making the most of this opportunity. A 2 year contract, full time training and excellent coaching could make an enormous difference. I am optimistic.....

Stephen Folan ended a trial in England to secure a deal with Dundalk FC
SIGNING FOR THE LILYWHITES IS 'THE HIGHLIGHT' OF THE DEFENDER'S CAREER

Everyone deserves a chance to do well but this is a key area that we have to get right. I read his interview and he does come across very positive and hungry. We had heard very little of Andy Boyle before he came, didn't exactly set the world light with UCD and Shels but he did reach a FAI cup final with the latter. The improvements he made was superb.

I not suggesting Folan will be similar but being left footed might give us good options and if he can train well (full time will help) and focus on the job, he might turn out to be quite a shrewd signing.

In the week ahead

I anticipate developments on
McMillan
Benson
Murray

If there is no news on McMillan in the next 7 days I would take that as a small glimmer of hope. Ditto for McEleney
