And it was nowhere near what I expect a first 11 to be, the negativity of some people after a single game is crazy
Partial to an overreaction myself, but cant bring myself to call for the managers head after 90 minutes! I'm gonna give it 3 games :)

Is one of the main issues that we gave McEleney, McMillan and Benson too long to decide if they were going to sign a new deal or not. Obviously you don't want to lose them , especially not to another team in Ireland, but all 3 left us hanging on until around Christmas. McEleney and Davie Mac left , and we were chasing our tails again in January.

Yeah agree totally with you Niall also Dundalk fc1903 you make a very good point on us waiting on players to decide if they want to play for us or not, in one way it can work by waiting and in other way it can go again you by the player moving on and in that time you can miss out on potential replacements. I think you have to take a chance and put the pressure on the player and remove the safety net that they have that if they don’t get better offers they sign back, I think you have to set a deadline and move on to other targets..

Dundalk Fc where have I called for the managers Head? I haven't nor will I. Stephen Kenny owes us nothing no matter what happens in the future.

It was tongue in cheek and wasn't aimed directly at you...or anyone really.

Common sense tells us that we are only one game into a long league campaign, we should have patience,
give it time & so on. But time is the one thing we don't have because Cork are miles better than us and
will be out of sight by the end of the first series of games. We needed to hit the ground running to have
any chance of challenging Cork, but we struggle to a point against the relegation favourites Bray. It
doesn't inspire much confidence does it? I hope I'm way off the mark here and you're all pointing fingers
at me a few months from now but I just don't see it.

I think early days Condor, lets see where we sit after 4 or 5 games, plus appears we will have an experienced striker to add to the ranks next week.

A 0-0 draw at home to Bray is not the start we wanted, disappointing but as SK said in his interview post match, 9 points on offer before the end of the month. Plenty of time to get this back on track.

Will be interesting to see. Good result for them last night, 10 men away to pats. With Rovers and Derry away the next 2 of 3, it’s a tough start for us now. Hopefully the league will be more competitive this year and every team won’t roll over for Cork

There are an awful lot of comment since the last two disappointing results which make sweeping assumptions about a lack of patience by the new owners.

Is this stereotyping at its finest?

Question is why next week, why not three weeks ago.. Another striker what about midfield ?. Our options on the right are Connolly, McGrath or Mounteney all of whom failed miserably to deliver last season and two of them started this season in the same way.

I think these are fair questions to ask - although I'd imagine that SK would have far preferred to have all his squad assembled for the start of pre-season.

I think we have a lot more options on the right then you present, and the midfield situation is likely to be much stronger than what we have seen over the last 2 games.

Although Jamie McGrath was poor last Friday, he has shown signs in pre-season and towards the end of last year that he could be a significant player for us this season. While he may end up on the right side as could Mountney when fit, there are other alternatives to Connolly. Duffy could also be switched over with Jarvis or Murray on the left (SK has already mentioned Murray here). It is also possible that Adorjan or a fit Sam Byrne could be deployed in a wide position.

For me defensive midfield is the biggest positional question mark. Perhaps Chvedukas will be in the answer here if O'Donnell or Shields have fitness or form issues.

Illness and injury have disrupted our start but it is hard to see us being unable to put out a formidable 5 man midfield from this 11,when we have most of our options fit and available:

O'Donnell
Shields
Poynton
Chvedukas
Benson
Adorjan
Mountney
Connolly
Duffy
Murray
Byrne

DFC have put a picture album up of preparations ahead of rovers game there’s a guy in a photo with a phone in his hand, as well as Skipper. No idea who it is, possibly the European striker that’s been previously mentioned?

Is that not Danny Miller, the physio?
