Gannon was also excellent. It would be a fantastic boost to get him signed up for another couple of years.

Tonight is what happens when opposition teams try to play football against us. Pats try to play the right way but are just a bit soft.

And I would also give a special mention about Shane Grimes - he was outstanding in our last 2 games

Agreed it was his best game in a dundalk shirt but I would.like to see hIm do more and grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

That is the key thing. He plays well when the team plays well. However, in that position we need a dominant player, someone who can dictate the game when we are under pressure.

I haven't given up him though. I think he has ability, it is a question of how badly he wants it.

I though it may be significant that Stephen Kenny did not agree a loan move for Conor Clifford in the transfer window. It leads me to believe that he has not given up on him either and may see potential that has not been so apparent in his limited first team appearances.

Hopefully, he will get further opportunities to kick-on in the remaining league games

Another truly dominant display, with outstanding play from Gannon, Duffy, Connolly & Clifford. This with hopefully a cup victory next Friday gives us great momentum going into the EA Sports cup final in Tallaght, bring it on.

Finally, a great attendance in Oriel last night, in a week where there was a lot of pressure on folk with back to school & so on.

Have to agree on Grimes, he was excellent, doing what he does best too with triangle movement and quick passing. He had a great game, Duffy was superb and it was just great to see Connolly get off the mark, he had a fine second half. Clifford was good too, great to see him taking his chance like that. Some header by McMillan for his second. A bullet.

Not sure I'd agree on the crowd being great, it was ok (almost 2,400) Pats had well over 100 at it too, I'll do up the figures over the weekend, but we have dropped off significantly from last seasons average of around 3k.

Excellent all round, it was like 2015 all over again! It's a bit of a cliche but it really could/should have been 10. Pats were possibly a bit hard done by with the pen/red card, but we should have been 3 up by then and looked like scoring every time we went forward.

Grimes was fantastic in the Massey role, incredible to see how fit and switched on he was considering how little football he's played in recent seasons.

Grimes is a great pro and it's fantastic to see SK put faith in him when he was on the sidelines for so long. Must've been tough for Grimes to be out for so long and still maintain his focus and regain fitness. Great example of professionalism. Didn't make the game had to make do with Dundalk FM. That is always entertaining!

10 assists in 9 games for micky Duffy. I assume that has quietened his detractors a bit.
Not long ago he was being described as 'brutal' and 'awful'
He is miles ahead of where horgan was in his first season with us. Miles.
