Agree with the tackling comments. Finn Harps were hatchet men and Timlin should have seen red. Knee high lunge.

Good second half performance. Subs made a huge difference.

Taken from an interview with Kenny in the Democrat. It sums the man up.

“It (the win) reduces the gap (to Cork City at the top of the table) to eight-points. We’re not clinging on to false hope, I think there’s an inevitability there, but we have won the league three years in a row so we didn’t want to surrender it here. We wanted to win, people would have said that the game was irrelevant, but it wasn’t, it was relevant to me."

Of course it was relevant , Cork City play , Bohs , Pats away, Derry & Bray. Not a done deal.

A masterclass from Stephen Kenny, his team selection, when subs were introduced & tactics throughout. Harps went for the heavy stuff & when this didn't work they had nothing else to give. Another shocking tackle on a a Dundalk player, Connolly this time which merited a straight red not to mention a heavy tackle on Stewart, I hope both are OK for Tuesday. Connolly was never in the game after the assault on him.

Victory was fully deserved & who earlier in the season would ever have thought the league title would still be not won with three games to go.

I hope Harps do go down. They are not dirty, they are filthy. Referee was far too lenient.

With the pitch as well. One wonders would it have gone ahead if it wasn't on TV.
