Galway Utd V Dundalk | Fri 27 Oct | 7:45pm | Eamonn Deacy Park

Galway on a do or die mission where only a win is of any possible use to them

Dundalk with one eye on the following week.

Stephen Kenny will need all his motivational powers and the "wisdom of Job" to figure out how to approach this one. A win with a decent performance for momentum and no injuries is the obvious target - easier said then done!

Anyone hear that Buttimer is down to referee this match? At the time I didn't take it seriously as these are not normally announced until midweek. On the other hand, if true, you wouldn't want to expose any player to a potential red card.

Yeah it's on RTÉ2. They must be sniffing an upset.

To be fair, it is the only match that has a bit of drama attached to it.

What's parking like at the ground?

Non-existent, people tend to abandon their cars on the side of the road close to the ground and walk, and it's not that wide a road either, very similar to Mount Avenue.

There's a hotel 2-3 minutes walk away with plenty of parking , if I remember right

I thought the parking down the back of the ground was fine last time I was there. And I think the hotel is a good 5 minute drive away.

Team news

Sean Hoare is suspended for the trip west after accumulating five yellow cards while Steven Kinsella and John Mountney remain sidelined through quad and groin injuries respectively. Captain Stephen O’Donnell returns after serving his one match suspension last weekend with Dane Massey, Niclas Vemmelund, Dylan Connolly, Thomas Stewart and Patrick McEleney all struggling with various knocks.

I felt we didn't come out of second gear & it seems we didn't need to. Very entertaining to watch with Mc Eleney's wonder goal the highlight. Has to be the starting 11 for next week that started this one, it was noticeable & I understand fully that full blooded tackles were avoided throughout with next week in mind.

I did feel sorry for Galway at the end but it wasn't just last nights result that sent them to division 1.

That would be close to my starting 11 also. Only question would be over Vemmelund. If he's going I'm not sure it's a good idea to play him ahead of Hoare who will be here next season

That's a significant point. If SK sees little between them, this nay mean Horse getting the nod

Unlike previous years I’m just glad we don’t have any donkeys on the bench !!
