From The Mirror today:

Dundalk boss Stephen Kenny won’t be surprised if the title race goes to the final day of the season.

I must admit that I would be very surprised if it goes to the last game - although if we have to beat Bohs in Dalymount to win the league I'd expect us to do so.

What Stephen Kenny actually said was that "it's possible" that it could go to the last game

PP have slightly diff odds but not too far off above.

DFC 3/10

Cork 21/10

These odds are probably factored in by ‘allowing’ one more defeat by Dundalk and even at that Cork would still to win all remaining games and we would have to slip up / draw another.

The game in Cork will be key, avoiding defeat should be within us and I like above lost by DLK1903. Go and win it.

Waterford away is obviously another very tough one but I looked at Cork’s remaining 7 and I’d consider 4 to be very tough. 3 are away. Bohs. Derry. Rovers. Then us at home.

Let’s win tomorrow night and get ready for the trip to Cork. I’d say SK will be looking to have the squad staying down the night before that one.

Never mind this one game at a time lark - thats for the players and management.

Supporters can dream and scheme and plan.

I think we will win the league at home to St Pats on Friday 5 Oct

Cork (67 points from 30 Games)

14 Sept Bohs (A)
21 Sept Dundalk (H)
05 Oct Rovers (A)
12 Oct Limerick (H)
19 Oct Derry (A)
26 Oct Bray (A)

Dundalk (73 points from 30 Games)
21 Sept Cork (A)
25 Sept Derry (H)
05 Oct St Pats (H)
12 Oct Waterford (A)
19 Oct Sligo (H)
26 Oct Bohs (A)

If we go to Cork and win on 21 Sept we will have 76 points from 31 games, Cork with 70 points from 32 games (assuming they beat Bohs away 14 Sept)

That would leave Cork capable of a maximum of 82 points, meaning we would need 2 more wins - Derry in Oriel on 25 Sept and St Pats on 5 Oct

Obviously there are lots of other permutations (including Cork losing to Bohs), but I'm marking that date as the red letter day!

Mathematically, we would only be ahead on goal difference. We would still need a result of some sort in Waterford to be absolutely sure. RSC is a nice ground with plenty of space for away fans, I quite like the idea of celebrating down there.

Either way, 19th Oct is the day to mark, last home game and - hopefully - trophy presentation.

For me i think it would be as old fogey says away to Waterford.
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

Waterford away might be the one, but I’m sticking with Sligo home game for winning it. Factoring in loads of ‘what ifs’ Plus always nicer to win it at home.

Cork won't win in Dalymount or Tallaght. Even if we only draw in Turners Cross we'll seal the deal against Pats.

But we're gonna win 2-0 in Turners Cross.

It's almost like going full circle where 6 years earlier we celebrated our PD status with play off victory in waterford

The RSC holds a special place among Dundalk fans. As it was mentioned before how good would it be to regain the premier division title at same ground we retained premier division status
The natural balance of Irish football has returned for good.

Little snippet for folks.
We’re level with Shels on 6 titles in the two division era. If/when we win this year’s we become the most successful on 7!

We’ll move into joint second with Shelbourne on 13 if as expected we win it this year.

Then only 4 behind Rovers. I don’t see them moving to 18 anytime soon so we can hopefully narrow that even further under SK.

It was tagged John Delaney but captured a number of interested spectators.
