What will our excuse be in a couple of weeks when more than likely Cork will do the same to us again??

I don't think they will.

Doesn't mean I think we'll definitely beat them. But they have very obvious problems at the back. They're going to miss Delaney badly. We could/should have been 4-up by half time ourselves.

I saw enough in the first half to recognise our potential. The second half was a horror show but there were reasons for it.

Everyone one of your posts since yesterday has been that of a negative nelly! It was only a friendly and well short of a first strength team that turned into a makeshift team by the end of the game

We really should have 3-0 up right on HT with that great effort by McGrath, game totally changed when Shields left MF and Benson who we later found out only back from flu went in, the gaps just appeared, add that to the makeshift defence with probably only 2 who will start on Friday. First half was good stuff played in difficult conditions, second half was just dreadful, their 3rd and 4th goals to be fair were decent, very disappointing to concede 4 and at home, but potential in the first half should offer better hope for the season ahead.

Injuries though are a worry, now Hoare joining the list of O’Donnell and Mountney but good to see Hoban back on the pitch, hopefully Gannon and Gartland will be ready for Friday. Bad flu bug went through the camp too I heard.

....and spectacularly inaccurate - Liverpool held onto their 2-0 lead.

Our first team played in the previous eight, nine, or ten matches and still were unable to overcome Cork or will we not count that with and come up with another excuse why we didn’t beat them..

Rogers- 1st goal, although should have got cleared by defenders what was he doing!
Poynton- Excellent 1st Half, Poor 2nd
Hoare- Excellent until he went off
Folan- Horror show 2nd half
Massey- Shepard destroyed him 2nd half
Shields- Very good in CM, very poor CB (hes not a CB of any discription)
Adjoran- Looked good in bits, very slow
Duffy- Great first half, never got ball to him in second
Connolly- Shocking
McGrath- Great first half, disappeared second half
Muray- Top performance

Benson- Wasnt at the races
Hoban- Needs to lose at least 1 stone

What's worrying is the amount of goals leaked during pre season. We have a tough couple of games at the beginning of this season. Trips to derry and talla and home to cork.

Ah Grayser bit harsh there.... specially considering Liverpool hadn't even kicked off at that stage. I'll have a word about the spectacular inaccuracy of his fortune telling though ;)

All jokes aside though I'd not be too worried about how this game went - would've liked to win it but it means nothing in the grand scheme of things - what is more worrying though is how much of the squad will be available and fully fit on Friday?

I'm hoping Kenny was bring cautious with his squad, that we'll see a bit more strength on Friday. Some more defenders would be nice.
