Stephen Kenny is unsure of Krisztian Adorjan’s future at @DundalkFC. The Hungarian wasn’t in the match day squad tonight. SK: “He’s still a Novaro player and they’re waiting to see if they’re in Serie B or Serie C next year so we just have to wait and see.” #DundalkSport

Theres some contradictions in reports on his contract status.

Last February, shortly after he was signed on loan, Dundalk Sport reported that his contract with his Italian parent club Novaro expired this summer:

Adorján’s contract with Novaro is due to expire in the summer but he said that nothing is set in stone regarding his long-term future.

“I’ve got a contract with Novaro and I’m on loan here for six months,” he said. “I’m extremely happy with the situation now but it’s not just my decision, unfortunately.

“We will just have to see what happens as time goes on. For now, I just cannot wait for the season to start with Dundalk.”

In the most recent interview with Gavin McLaughlin he says that while he would like to stay at Dundalk, but he has a contract back in Italy (about 3.20 on the SoundCloud interview)
https://soundcloud.com/dundalk_sport

Which is it?

Finally the mystery is unraveled.

According to Gavin McLaughlin, Novaro have exercised an option to extend his contract for another year at the Italian club and the likelihood of Adorjan appearing again in a Dundalk short appear to be receeding

I liked Adorján, but in all honesty, he has been a bit-part player for much of the season, and with McGrath and McEleney competing for the same position, we're pretty well stocked in that department.

No great revelation here on Krisztián Adorján considering that the transfer window is about to close - but at least it puts any speculation to bed

Ready to take off for Dundalk’s Europa League trip to Cyprus. Stephen Kenny says that loanee Krisztian Adorjan will not be returning to the club after he was called back to Italy - deadline for doing a deal is tonight.

Not quite the headscratcher Tagbajumi was and Chvedukas might still be. But he had bags of football brains (unlike Connolly) and it’s a damn shame we didn’t see more of that

It's a pity Adorjáns stayed couldn't be extended. He was a very useful player to have and the few times he got on recently you could see he was adapting better to the league. I think he would have been perfect for tomorrow nights game in Cyprus, but no point crying over split milk. We still have good options available in the squad.

Real pity. We were all looking for somebody in midfield to step up against Cork and he took his goal in Oriel in June really well.

As King Keeny has said you can’t have enough good players. He would have suited European football, seemed like a nice lad and not afraid to get stuck in. He also wanted to stay. Consolation is that we are well covered in that position. Best of luck to him

Pity. Definitely looked like he had the ability to create and come up with something special.

We might look back at that goal against Cork that he scored as the moment the momentum swung back in our favour.

I think his recall is a testament to Stephen Kenny and the backroom staff. There's no doubt he's a much better player than when he arrived.

Novara playing in the Italian Cup tonight and Adorjan is not even on the bench what a joke
