Although SK and the team will only be focused on what we can do, at the same time we cannot allow ourselves to lose any further ground on Cork, we need to start scoring and winning, and that starts tonight.

Just our luck though that we would have faced a fired up Bray on day one, then they have collapsed since.

SK has a few calls to make on his starting line-up tonight, right across the team but particularly because of the lack of attacking penetration in our opening league games.

Although Sean Hoare is reported to be available for selection after his hamstring injury, I suspect he will run with the same central back pairing of Cleary and Folan; Massey to get the nod over Jarvis.

I hope that Chvedukas gets some game time, but I doubt that SK will start him considering he must be well off the ideal fitness levels.

Adorjan could put pressure on both Benson and Murray for a starting spot while I would not discount Connolly from getting a surprise start.

Tagbajumi could also challenge Hoban, although I suspect both will see game time.

My hunch is that SK will actually make no changes to the starting line up from last Friday

Stephen Kenny sure it's only a matter of time before Dundalk start finding the net

Anytime between 7.45pm and 8pm tonight would be a good time to start

Looking at our squad I could see it really motoring along nicely come the summer, but unfortunately after only a couple of games there's that sinking feeling of deja vu that we're in for a repeat of last season - too much ground to make up, with all the exact same excuses in the locker as last year.

*Of course* we're only a couple of games in, and thinking like this is a bit nuts. But right now who is more likely to drop points over the next few weeks?... Derry's first match back at the Brandywell, Cork flying already... Does anyone really believe that if there's a 10 point gap after the first Cork match that we'll close it?

I understand that Kenny is as frustrated as anyone at losing his best players every year. It's not his fault. But on the flipside from the moment we went out of Europe last summer attention needed to turn to this season's signings, yet we're back talking about all the players who didn't get a proper pre-season, who need time to gel and so on and the feeling that we've signed players without an overall plan in mind. Maybe the ownership thing didn't help, but that's a red herring I feel - it didn't prevent the Sheppard debacle. It's just frustrating.

The delay in the sale of the club was hugely disrupting. The coaching staff were not even offered contracts until the sale went through. How can new players be recruited in that vacuum?

Also, Sheppard was going to be the big signing.

We shot ourselves in the foot for 2018.

The sale of dundalk had no reflection on our ability to sign players the previous owners could have still given the go ahead to sign player's in the event that peak6 deal fell through, you must remember not every player that SK wanted he got and maybe had to move on to 2nd 3rd choice hence the late signings some of whom could have been panic signings only time will tell.

Back to tonights match, I'm told we have a full squad to chose from apart from SOD and JM whom I'm told both should be available for Fridays match if it goes ahead. Probs with security cert in Derry I'm hearing.

I'm going for 1-1 draw or 2-0 Dundalk.... Maybe 3-0. I can't see us losing.
