More top class stats from James Rogers on the day that Gary Rogers' contract extension is announced:

Great to have Gary back on board. For me he’s had the best of his four season at Oriel and the stats back that up with 19 clean sheets in 30 league matches his best return of any season. Just 16 goals conceded in those games too. His distribution also continues to improve.

A significant night for Dundalk goalkeeper @1garyrogers who makes his 130th league appearance for the club. This means he has now played more league matches for Dundalk than any other side in his career, overtaking the 129 he made for Drogheda.
St Francis - 23
Drogheda Utd - 129
Bray Wanderers - 7
Galway Utd - 62

Is this just league appearances? If not surely Martin Lawlor would be pushing 600 easily?

Yes, League of Ireland appearances

Jim Murphy's excellent Whos who website puts Martin Lawlor at 447 league appearances, 400 of them at Dundalk
In a National League career that spanned 20 years and nearly 650 games (447 League appearances), he spent 17 of them at Oriel Park, setting marks that are unlikely ever to be approached.

Alan O'Neill tweet of congratulations to Gary Rogers on being overtaken on the league appearances
Alan O'Neill
‏@aon1957

Tonight Gary Rogers made his 544th League of Ireland appearance. The most EVER by any Goalkeeper in the League. A great tribute to his consistentcy and professionalism down through the years. Many congratulations Gary.

Gary can match Peter Hutton next week against Cork and take the number 3 spot a few days later against Bohs. Owen Heary can't be matched this season and it would take another 2+ seasons to have any chance of overtaking Al Finucane

634 Al Finucane
565 Owen Heary
545 Peter Hutton
544 Gary Rogers
543 Alan O'Neill

James Rogers
@jamesdundalk

Another week, another landmark for Gary Rogers, who moves level with Peter Hutton on 545 league appearances tonight. Only Owen Heary (565) and Al Finucane (634) have now played more than Rogers.
