Well that's a stinker of a draw. Good run out for the fringe players though, you'd think

Our "fringe players" would have a good shout of finishing top four in the league if they were starting for another team

Gavin McLaughlin / Dundalk Sport

DFC | Lilywhites to begin EA Sports Cup defence in Dublin on Easter Monday

Dundalk FC will begin their defence of the EA Sports Cup on Easter Monday when they face St Patrick’s Athletic at Richmond Park at 3pm.

Liam Buckley’s side were the last team to beat Dundalk in the competition with Rory Feely scoring a late winner in a tie that went to extra-time back in April 2016.

Dundalk have already travelled to Inchicore this month with the sides playing out a scoreless draw in a league game there on March 12th.

Sligo 1 Waterford 0
and
Cobh 1 Longford 0
tonight, so Dundalk, Derry, Sligo and Cobh in the semis. Would be nice to avoid Derry away, but another great chance for a minor trophy

Set for the August bank holiday Monday.

I would have preferred a home draw, but we should have enough to negotiate this one.

While checking the rearranged Limerick fixture, I noticed that the club website fixture list has a game on Saturday 15th September, opposition TBC. Let's hope such arrogance doesn't come back to bite the individual on the bum. I wasn't aware that the date for the final had even been decided yet. In 2013 the final was played on Sep 21st, so it could easily be arranged for Sep 22nd. Not good for us as it would mean the Cork away game being shifted to midweek somewhere.

I assume that the 15 Sept date must be allocated for the EA Sports Cup final - otherwise it makes no sense. If we qualify that would mean Derry at home on 14 Sept getting moved not Cork away the following week

I notice that four FAI Cup dates including the final are also included on the fixtures calendar , but strangely no Europa League QF1 matches that we are actually qualified for.

Don't like the smell of presumption!

Lads I don't think it presumes or assumes anything... those cup dates are pre set and so would be in any fixture lists.
