It’s an old cliche but this is the first game I look for when the fixtures come out. Rovers at home always has a good oul feel to it. A good old fashioned rivalry, 2 sets of fans that aren’t very fond of each other and normally a decent game of football all adds up to a good night!!
I think tonight we are the much better side and could easily hit them for 4 or 5 if we were to score early. Having said that, it could just as easily be a 0-0 or a 1-0 win either way. Unfortunately I’ve a funny feeling we may lose our clean sheet record tonight but I’m confident of a home win!!
King Kenny!

While the clean sheet record is great, it's a novelty that will pass - getting a win is far more important.

I doubt anyone would prefer a 0-0 over a 3-2 win

Checking the sky planner last night to make sure I had the game set to record. It was listed as ‘LOI Live Dundalk v Cork City’ then under the title ‘join Peter Collins and co as Dundalk take on Shamrock Rovers’

Back to the old errortel days.

Fell over the line in the end. Couple of good stops by Sava. Carr caused the two lads plenty of problems, with Folan looking a bit shaky the whole game. Hoare will have no problem going straight back in the 11.
Duffy roasted Boyle for about 70 mins. Best performance of the season from Benson.
Nice to hit the front after Corks defeat.

Best performance from Benson this season. Welcome back Bob!! Adjoran is class . Great first touch, two footed and doesn’t lose the ball. I thought nearly every attack we had came through him .
To top off a super night, I see Caulfield caused a melee down in Waterford :) :)

Folan looked nervous and looked shaky the whole game. I think it eventually affected Cleary's hame as well.

I thought we looked a joy going forward and we cut through Rovers at ease.

It could all have been undone with nervous defending though.

Gushed!!!! Lol!

Agree with all said above. Surprised Benson man of the match. Shields maybe?

In fairness to rovers, they are definitely improving. As long as they keep those two keepers I'll be happy with that.

Caulfield getting sent off. A turning point? Definitely feeling the pressure. Wait till the champions league hits him.

MON DE TOWN!!

After Stephen Kenny letting him know it was 5 years since Chris Shields got a league goal, Gerry Malone runs around to find Chris to ask him about the 6 year wait!

Giddy Gerry even delivers a diatribe about how TV effects gates!

Was there trouble up by Kennedys pre match? Saw a lot of stone island brigade hovering about there and running across road. And then an elderly gentleman mentioned in the stand that it kicked off up at Kennedys.

Interviewer: But by jasus, I'll tell ya something, it was a great performance, you got 3 points, you must be delighted
Player: Yeah 3 points at the end of the day is all that matters

There is no other interviewing style quite like it. The Maestro and Jamie McGrath
