I would like to see Mountney utilised more in the middle of the park. He has all the attributes. Benson and Shields need a kick up the arse. No competition for them with chevdukas and now skip out injured

Best wishes to Stephen for a speedy recovery. Suppose it depends on how high up or down the fracture is to determine recovery times.

What has Shields done wrong? He's there to break up play and he does that. Benson is there to dictate play, create chances and chip in with goals. He doesn't do that in the big games

Dundalk FC can confirm that captain Stephen O’Donnell has suffered a broken leg.

The skipper fractured his tibia during last night’s clash with Waterford FC.

Speaking to dundalkfc.com this afternoon manager Stephen Kenny confirmed the news.

“Stephen has a broken leg. The bottom line is that he broke his tibia. He will be having surgery over the weekend. We’ll see from there.

“He heard a crack when it happened. It is too early to estimate how long he will be out for. We will know more after the surgery.

Firstly, best wishes to Stephen O' Donnell & hopefully a speedy recovery ahead.

On last night again more wasted chances not taken, thought a draw was at least deserved. Injuries starting to build but a great chance for those coming in to make a name for themselves. The two goals conceded were avoidable with Rogers rushing from his line when no need to do so, a la Alkmarr. Poor defending for the second, I'm sure Stephen Kenny was livid at both goals going in. Fantastic free kick & score from Murray just before half time & this should have propelled us onwards. We did possess the ball most of the second period but chances from Benson again & Mc Grath went a begging. Two Friday's in a row, long journeys home with nothing when we deserved so much more for our efforts.

Hopefully we won't look back at the season end & regret these games when we should have got a point or points & ended up with nothing.

It was a good game to listen to on the radio, despite the result, although I wish someone would distance the mic from Adrian when things get exciting.

The team's efforts come to nothing if enough goals are not scored, all teams get what they deserve in that regard.

No mention here of Duffy's booking for diving - anyone at the game have a good view of that?

It was quite far away from the Dundalk fans. He got round the player and was ready for pull the trigger and then went down. Duffy does not go down easy. Why would he "dive" when he was through on goal? Hopefully, the TV coverage will clear it up.

Exactly cant believe anybody could mention Shields imo hes been one of our best players this season but somehow ends up scapegoat. Benson has been a bigger let-down but he seems to be untouchable for some reason.

It looked like it was a clear pen and agree with above, but we were a good bit away so the angle of view wasn't the best, TV should clear it up but I thought the ref was going to give it. We deserved a draw and that terrible period before half time clearly effected the players concentration. Poor old O'Donnell he has been very unlucky, looked to be in dreadful pain, best wishes to him and his recovery.

On the game we are missing far far too many chances, Benson had probably the best one towards the end and even Shields missed one, this has got to stop, McGrath missed a similar good opportunity to level in Cork.

Nice trip down and my first visit to the RSC, good few staying in our hotel, including a hen party from Dundalk, a lively bunch for the pre match entertainment !

It is simply incredible that Soccer Republic did not feature the penalty incident

What's with this surrounding the referee each time you think you should get a free kick or a man carded. It was the same in Turners Cross. Five and six Dundalk players surrounding the ref each time one of your players get a little tip. Every team foul but don't surround the ref like that.
