Probably harsh, but I feel like a spurned lover. I doubt he’ll ever start half a dozen League games for us.

Very harsh. If he gets the surgery soon and gets a full preseason he could be very good next season.

Good luck Karolis

Karolis Chvedukas is undergoing an operation on his ankle today in London. He and Stephen O'Donnell are expected to be Dundalk's only absentees for Friday's trip to Cork

I hope it goes well as he could be a player that we will be talking about for years to come. He certainly has the pedigree. If there are any doubts about his committment it would be due to some of the managers comments eg 'he feels he needs an operation' which sounds like the manager seemed to think he should be available to play if he was willing. I think it was also said earlier in the season that a scan had shown that there would be no further issue if he played but Im open to correction on that. In contrast if it was Skip he'd have to be held back from plaing if he had any chance as long as he wasnt making things worse.

Benson in danger of missing cup final. From thinking he deserved to be dropped to thinking we looked a bit dysfnctional without him!

Benson's ability to cover a lot of ground is desperately needed at the Aviva. At times, he struggles in games at tight grounds but the Aviva is perfect for him.

Caught up with Stephen O'Donnell after the game in Newry last night. A calf injury picked up in training last week is his main concern at the minute.

Stephen Kenny says Stephen O'Donnell's calf problem means he is fighting a losing battle in his bid to play any part of a competitive game this season

Pat Hoban just left Dalymount on crutches with his ankle strapped. Jamie McGrath tweaked a groin in the warm up. Sean Gannon rested as a precaution because of a hip problem but will be okay for next week.

Robbie Benson should resume training next week. Dean Jarvis and Chris Shields were missing because their other halves are expecting. Ronan Murray also carrying a knock.

Post match Tweet from last night

Patrick Hoban's ankle injury will be assessed tomorrow. I'd be amazed if it keeps him out of the FAI Cup final and a first appearance at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday week.

I presume SK's comments are from last last night

Kenny confident 'determined' Hoban will make FAI Cup final

Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny is confident Patrick Hoban will overcome an ankle injury to feature in the FAI Cup final after picking up the knock last night.

Hoban’s participation is in doubt after the 1-1 draw with Bohemians at Dalymount Park where he left the stadium on crutches.

The league's top scorer will have a scan today to see if he can feature.

Kenny said: "We'll have to see. Patrick has never played in the Aviva Stadium. He is a very determined guy so I imagine he'll be fine."

Anyone hear any news since the scan today?

Might as well talk as if he's starting right up until kick off. At least that way whatever our Plan B is might flummox them a bit.
