Stephen O'Donnell aside, Dundalk are expected to have a full squad to pick from for Friday's game with Cork City. Stephen Kenny has admitted though that it might be a "little early" for John Mountney

It seems incredible that Skip could possibly re-appear before the end of the season. Here's hoping

Dundalk FC captain Stephen O'Donnell not ruling out comeback from injury this season after return to training
SSE AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

Next Thursday, August 2, could be a decisive 24 hours in Dundalk FC’s season. As the Lilywhites play the second leg of their Europa League qualifier against AEK Larnaca in Cyprus, the club’s ‘skipper, Stephen O’Donnell, will meet with specialist surgeon Denis Collins at Beaumont Hospital for one last check-up.

It’s 12 weeks since O’Donnell broke his right leg in an Airtricity League match away to Waterford.

Dundalk captain Stephen O'Donnell will see a specialist this week to determine whether he can return to action this season or not following his leg break.

Groin I believe. A sign of being short on match practice. In any other circumstances he probably wouldn't have played last week.

After seeing a specialist last week, Stephen Kenny revealed that club captain Stephen O’Donnell could pull on a Dundalk jersey again this season.

“Will he play this season? I don’t know. He won’t be ready in the near future but maybe October, we’ll have to see.”
