Sean Hoare on tonights match

'It has almost become a derby at this stage. There's a lot of hype around it'
Sean Hoare’s form as a makeshift full-back has been vital for Stephen Kenny and Dundalk in recent weeks.

Some win. Strange game. Unbelievably loose and open. We were all over the place first half. Couldve been three down after fifteen minutes.

Still felt come second half we would win but not by such an extraordinary margin.

Rovers are absolutely hopeless. Lost the run of themselves second half. They would be better off getting rid of Greg bolger. A mouthy liability. If Carr and Finn stayed on, could've been a different game.

I thought gartland had a fantastic 90 minutes. One of the few players who played well for the whole game. If we played like we did in the first half in Europe, we may forget it. Horrendous stuff. Second half performance was a thousand times better. Kenny must've given some rollicking

Should also mention the embarrassment of their support. Ireland's most"successful" club muster a meager attendance. Even their PA sounded like he didn't give a flying f**k. We mention our embarrassment of support in recent games but that attendance by the home team at a game as big as that is pathetic. A mediocre club with mediocre players and supporters. And they are building a new stand. I have to laugh. The product is not there to get 2/3 thousand, what do they expect when that white elephant is built. It will look awful.

I'd happily keep the Oriel shack, with king Kenny and the constant product of scintillating football and yearly European football. Dundalk can then fill ALL of tallaght stadium.

MON DE TOWN!!!!

PS great seeing our chairman there. He must have some air miles going

Watched it on the box, madcap game.
First half we were pretty dreadful yet Hobans goals was a thing of beauty. Lopes should have seen a straight red, Jamie was luck that no serious damage was done. Incredibly dangerous tackle from a rubbish player and a team with a terrible disciplinary record.
Second half we were excellent. Benson pops up with a couple having been anonymous in the first half. Adorjan did well when he came on.
Connolly still kinda terrible.. . but i guess he will be there until Mountney comes back.
Oh and as for Ronan Finn - another toothless display :) A player who no longer harbours any ambition to win or play at the highest level.

Rovers got what they deserved out of the game absolutely nothing, they should have had us beaten out of sight first half hour but instead of going for the jugular after they went 1/0 up they started to slow the game up by messing abt at throws in taking an age with free kicks etc .

I noticed that Daniel Cleary got another booking after his goal.

Can anyone suggest what he did to merit this? I notice he made the hand behind the ear gesture towards the main stand and/or Rovers bench in his celebration - could that be the reason for him getting the same sanction as Lopes who should be in court for assault charges this morning

It was running to the Rovers bench that got him the card, certainly that was the view of al people around me at the game. Don’t think I have seen a yellow for that before?

Atmosphere last night was fantastic, Shed boys got every up on their feet for the last 20. Players and managers you could see felt it in their appreciation at the end. Reminded me of the famous cup semi v Bohs in 82, the 3-3 if anyone remembers it. Fantastic games of football with atmosphere to match

Talk about a game of two halves!
I see Rovers fans displaying a banner at the end. They like their banners, don't they? Remember the one at Oriel?
Bradley must be in big trouble now.
