We better not be when we're still selling the home jersey at full price

Rumour that probably started with the Cx clearance sale in Oriel. The fact that it was 2017 gear being cleared, tells me that all is ok with Horseware for the short term at least.

The away jersey is reduced by €10 so I suspect it could be down for another change.

James Rogers saying Ronan Murray has now decided to leave.

Pity, he's a talent and we didn't get to see the best of him.

Good addition - will thrive under Buckley.

They already were full time, but if you mean 52 week contracts instead of 40 they must be for the key players.

Not automatically so

Strange as it may appear it is possible to sign players on two year contracts and still only pay them for 40 weeks each season

Didn't know that

I did know the 40 week thing was an annual salary divided into 40 instead of 52 so the players could top up with jobseekers, but you need a P45 to get Jobseekers, so some mustn't be doing that.

The official Player Registration form is the only thing that counts; start and finish date, salary, etc. A player can INDICATE that they will resign for the following season but until that second year form is received by the FAI it's not worth diddly. Issuing a P45 is the absolute indication that a player is a free agent. Interestingly, the registration form itself appears to be a binding contract of employment for the players benefit, even if it never makes it to the FAI.

Do you know if a 2 year / 40 week per year contract ever been successfully challenged by a player?

Clubs have been successful issuing such contracts for a long time - while they may be theoretically open to legal challenges because of the break period, I know that the FAI have accepted single registration forms for the 2 season period.

Obviously now that we are running 52 week contracts this question becomes irrelevant to us (unless we are looking to sign a player half way through such a contract!)
