Vinny sounds a bit irked at the beginning of the interview on the whole 2016 v 2018 teams.

Maybe it was just the pain of getting snared by the veteran worldly-wise broadcaster..."Jeez Gerry, please no madcap questions tonight"

Wonderful ending and celebrations. Would have been nice to be more on it for the cameras. Not a night for complaints but Connolly was beyond bad. Nobody even bothered passing to him the whole first half. Just adds nothing to our system.

lol maybe, but it seems more like indignance at comments made elsewhere by 'journalists', comments that didnt need any response really. To be fair to Gerry he did go batting for this 2018 side and let Vinny know that he had words with the critics which will be a relief to Vinny no doubt!

A comprehensive win, say 3-0 up with half an hour to go and everyone just waiting on the final whistle or a tight 1-0 or even a draw making it a wee bit more tense and a bigger release of celebration at the final whistle?
There’ll be huge celebrations no matter what but a wee bit of excitement may not go amiss!!!

Just call me Mystic Mull..!!!! What a finish! It's a huge credit to this team to keep fighting till the very end to try and get a result. As it turned out, a 1-0 defeat and the result in Tallaght would have meant we'd still have won the league last night, but who wants to win it with a defeat?!!!
This squad are a super bunch of lads and deserve all the plaudits they'll get, and with the news of Duffy contract extension, things can only get better!!!!
King Kenny!

Patrick Hoban after scoring a 89th minute goal to guarantee the league title and get the Premier Division goal scoring record.

A lot of bad memories from three tough seasons in English football were exorcised.

Well done Pat.

Two things that were re-confirmed tonight
1) Pat Hoban is a fantastic centre forward who is a scoring machine
2) Dylan Connolly hasn't got it and is unlikely ever to find it

You're 100% right. Sadly, Connolly is a perpetual disappointment.

Two comments: We seemed to struggle without Benson.
Murray was impressive.
