New Manager

Postby londonlilywhite » Sat Nov 24, 2018 7:39 pm

I know it’s early but any ideas? Is Vinny Perth ready for the step up?

6 years in the shadow of Stephen Kenny....I'd imagine he'd be of a similar mould or else Kenny would have replaced him in that time. Kenny has huge shoes to fill and I think natural succession by Perth is the way to go. However, the question remains, will he follow Kenny and be part of his staff within the Irish set up?

Think Perth doesn’t have his badges yet.

All for continuity if possible. Wonder if Kenny could be tied into a DOF role?

A lot of talk of Collie O'Neill, although I reckon it's too big a job for him.

Nobody in the League is good enough to replace him. That’s the problem.

Any rumours tonight are people pulling names out of their holes

Maybe it should be Noel King if being u21 boss is considered such a great step up.

Keith Long or Collie O'Neill are the obvious ones in the league but I wouldn't be surprised to see the board want a big name from outside the league.

I know that a new manager would want his own team but it would be very important to have some sort of continuity and I would love the board ask the new manger to have O'Donnell on board as a player coach

It's very hard to build your own team when practically all of last seasons squad is signed up.

Barraclough recently extended contract with North's U21 team, doing really well so no chance

Will need to be done quickly, last three years we've had extended euro run, takeover and now this to complicate the close season.

We have the best players in the league and the highest budget in the league. This is a massive job for someone and offers great exposer as can be seen from Kenny.

Great opportunity for an up and coming manager or someone like Paul Jewell who wants to raise his profile again

We need a manager who understands the League and its challenges and can prepare for Europe and hit the ground running with an already 90% built squad.

That person doesn’t exist, imo.
