We’ve conceded 21 goals so far in 37 domestic games, 8 of those to Derry across four games. Bananas, and made worse by the fact that so many of them have been horrendous goals to concede.

The couple of lads who managed to get themselves into a scrap and had to be protected by stewards need to be banned. Sub-rovers dickheads. Could’ve spoiled the whole night. Hope someone grasses. We don’t need that shit.

The cameras only caught one fella getting floored in the background at the very beginning of the celebrations then panned away to celebrating faces. So what we saw on the telly was minimal. Was it only that or did it continue into something more sustained?

Heard it was a handful who ran over to where the players were and goaded the Derry fans. Dunno why fuckin dopes need to do that. Last thing I’d be thinking after a nerve shredder like that. Didn’t escalate thankfully. Security did well. Hope the buses are ok.

Young thugs either high on drink or drugs. Should be easy to identify and ban. Not the image we want for our club and good to hear the majority of our fans booing them at the end.

The club needs to address the significant number of "fans" who invaded the pitch in order to confront Derry fans. While most of the fans who invaded the pitch went to the players, a good 20 of them went on to the pitch to cause trouble. They were also the ones who went to the other corner of the ground at the Brandywell End to confront and fight with Derry fans. They were roundly booed by the rest of the Dundalk fans when returning to the "away end".

We quite rightly condemn scumbags from Rovers when they disgrace themselves. No excuses should be made for what happened tonight. It tarnished the good name of the club and should be met with a stern response from the club.

The behaviour of some of our "fans" was a disgrace.

No one should invade the pitch no matter what their intentions. The goading of Derry fans and whatever confrontation took place in the opposite corner reflects badly on the club and tarnishes the reputation of all supporters.

Brilliant win, even if it should not have come down to the penalty kick lottery.

Derry did really well to keep the tie level despite being down to 10 men for such a long time

Thoroughly deserved win.

Well said WH. It has taken the gloss off what was a great night.

Unfortunately we’ve had incidents like this sporadically for years and nothing is ever done, as is the case with all the clubs who have this problem. Without a League-wide fancard system, where you can’t buy a ticket or enter a ground without one, and you lose it when caught acting the scrote, it seems to be impossible to stop it. Particularly away matches. So nothing will happen this time either.

On a separate note someone was shining a green laser in McCarey’s eyes during the shoot out.
