We can welcome Flora (Estonia), Riga (Latvia) and KI Kalsvik (Faroes) to the party. All are ranked below Dundalk. Flora could just sneak into the seeds with a coefficient of 4, Riga almost certainly unseeded at 3.5. KI will be unseeded at 2.75. There'll be a couple more qualifiers over the weekend.

Joining the party are Champions League regulars Astana and Suduva, plus Djurgardens. Could have done with Astana not winning in Kazakhstan to give us a glimmer of hope of being seeded in round 2. Anyway....

Definitely seeded in first qualifying round
Kazakhstan- Astana 29.000
Norway- Molde 15.000
Moldova- Sheriff 12.750
Ireland- Dundalk 8.500
Lithuania- Suduva 6.750

Ranked below Dundalk, seeding to be confirmed
Dinamo Tbilisi 4.500
Sweden- Djurgardens 4.300
Estonia- Flora 4.000
Belarus- Dynamo Brest 3.775
Latvia- Riga 3.500

Definitely unseeded in first qualifying round
Faroes- KI 2.750
Finland- KuPS 2.500
Iceland- KR 2.500

Belarus, Georgia and Norway finish in the next couple of weeks, then it's a long wait til April/May before the winter leagues start to finish. By my calculation Malmo failing to win in Sweden means we are mathematical certain of being seeded in the first qualifying round.

This is a good resource which I think is updated fairly regularly which tracks possible Euro qualifiers.
https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?res ... drPjJ1UdUc

He assumes that whoever's top of the league now will win the league and assigns the clubs to next year's European competitions. You can see from this that "winners of first round tie involving Dundalk" would currently be ranked 13th of 20 in the second qualifying round draw. So we'd need 3 or 4 surprise league winners above us e.g. Legia not winning Poland. There' s a lot of variability of course- in Romania Cluj are ranked below us for now but could pick up more Europa League points this season and outrank us, or Steaua could win the league and outrank us. Also.... this document assume that this season's Champions League winners also qualify through their league (which they almost certainly will). That moves the Croatian champions into round 3, though they are slated to start in round 2.

Just noticed BATE in Belarus are on the verge of missing out on their first league title since 2006 to Dinamo Brest. Would Belarus have a higher league coefficient than our ranking?

Belarus are ranked 21 in Uefa, ireland 37. But only BATE would be ranked ahead of Dundalk. Country coefficient just determines what round you start in (basically), club coefficient is the only show in town

So Molde closed the deal in Norway, unfortunately. That’s three teams confirmed as ranked ahead of us in the first qualifying round draw (and more relevantly in the second qualifying round draw).

Bad news in last week’s Europa League too- Cluj and Rangers winning means they’d be ranked ahead of us if they win their league. (Slovan, Dudelange and Ferencvaros are the only other EL participants currently ranked below us with the potential to move ahead of us in the rankings.) As things stand I reckon we’ll be ranked about 14th (of 20) in the second qualifying round draw. It’ll take an immense amount of luck to sneak into the top 10 and be seeded.

Nolde wouldn't be in the first round would they? They would be formidable opposition and would be just our luck to get them

Molde will be in the first round.... Norway are ranked 23rd in Europe, the champions of every country from 18 down starts in round 1 (or from 20 down if the CL winners also qualify via the league). We won't be able to draw them in the first round though as we'll both be seeded.

Well after 13 titles in a row BATE have been beaten in Belarus. Dynamo Brest are the new champions and will play in the 2020-21 Champions League. They're ranked below Dundalk.

Time for a mini update with the Europa League out of the way and Georgia finished. Qarabag's late equaliser v Dudelange means we'll stay ranked ahead of Dudelange and hence all Luxembourg sides, likewise Slovan's loss to Braga means we'll be ranked ahead of all Slovak teams. Ferencvaros's 1 win and 4 draws (!!) in their group means they (or Fehevar) would be ranked ahead of us if they win the Hungarian league. Dinamo Tbilisi confirmed as champions in Georgia.

Anyway here's where we're at, I think, assuming we don't go bust between now and July ;-)

FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND
Definitely seeded in first qualifying round

Kazakhstan- Astana 29.000
Norway- Molde 15.000
Moldova- Sheriff 12.750
Ireland- Dundalk 8.500
Lithuania- Suduva 6.750

Ranked below Dundalk, seeding to be confirmed

Dinamo Tbilisi 4.500
Sweden- Djurgardens 4.300
Estonia- Flora 4.000
Belarus- Dynamo Brest 3.775
Latvia- Riga 3.500
Champions of Armenia, Albania, Bosnia, Gibraltar, Lux, Malta, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovakia, , Wales, Preliminary round winners.

Ranking to be done: Champions of Azerbaijan*, Bulgaria, Cyprus*, Hungary, Israel*, Poland, Romania*, Scotland*, Serbia*, Slovenia

Definitely unseeded in first qualifying round
Faroes- KI 2.750
Finland- KuPS 2.500
Iceland- KR 2.500

To be seeded in the second qualifying round we'd need to be among the top 10 ranked clubs starting in the first or second round. With the Swiss and Danish champions starting in round 2 it's hugely unlikely that we'll sneak into the seeds.

While the headline news from UEFA today was about the postponement of the international playoffs that had been re-scheduled for June, among the other announcements was this one about UEFA club competitions
UEFA
@UEFA
The deadlines related to all 2020/21 UEFA club competitions are postponed until further notice, in particular as regards the admission process and the registration of players.

UEFA will set new deadlines in due course.

Danger here
Neil O'Riordan
@noriordan

According to this, decision to be made on qualifying rounds on May 27 but axing qualifying rounds is looking more and more like an option and, as outlined in above link, clubs would not receive the prize money they were expecting or had budgeted for
