One thing is the FAI showing balls, its another if teams pull together and tell to take run and jump. The FAI is still being run by JDs footsoldiers and it is starting to show.....they are making a show of themselves. They should never forget that its not too long ago that they were asking one of the clubs they are threatening for loans as they dont have a pot to piss in without government money. Joke of an organisation......

FIFA now throwing money into the pot. There should be no excuses to playing a 27 game season. Give the clubs the money to keep going ffs.

Also reports submitted to the gardai regarding to the shenanigans going on so the net is closing hopefully in some of the c u next Tuesday's in the organisation.

The FAI will be able to borrow up to €4.5million interest-free from a new FIFA fund to help deal with the costs of relaunching football in Ireland after the Covid-19 lockdown.

Understand that clubs in LOI Premier Division will be told that they face relegation if they decide against returning to play this year - that's a change in tone from previous discussions. Should be an interesting 24 hours or so.

It's becoming clear that there seems to be only 3 teams holding up the show. Cork, Waterford and Sligo.. Obviously because relegation is imminent for them. Sure the finances are worth it going back, even if they are relegated. Waterford could be relegated/defunct anyway like Monaghan soon enough which is terrible.

Cork have been quiet. Pats seem to have become the ringleaders, amazingly enough.

At least we now know that a club-led breakaway league is a fantasy.

Can anybody explain why we are agreeing to an 18 game league? If every club is compromising , what are we getting out to f it?

Can Cork speak out?? Their landlands are more or less the FAI....would imagine in the current climate they have to be very careful or they may find a rent increase or something coming in.

As for a breakaway league....personally I feel the clubs need to get their act together and start singing off the same hyme sheet where the future of the LOI is concerned. Certain clubs have to realise it is not all about themselves and have to see the bigger picture.

It certainly is fantasy considering the diabolical behaviour of some of them.

Looking at the gaa who have cut their cloth to measure. No round robins or qualifiers. Straight knockout. Season done by Christmas. Back to my original suggestion. Ditch the cups. Play 27 games. Also done before Christmas.

As Stephen McGuiness pointed out, asking 19 clubs/businesses what they would like to see happen is pointless. Executive leadership needs to happen.

Restart confirmed for 31st of July, 18 games including those already played. Not sure how I feel about it, happy it's coming back but it's only half a season.

Personally feel it should have been as was or a new start. Dont like the idea of changing the rules once something has started. However if we do manage to win it....it will be all the sweeter.

It would have suited us better if it was 3 series / 27 matches, but we can have no complaints about the current results standing. It's good that promotion & relegation remains in place. There is no reason why we cannot recover the 3 point deficit over the remaining 13 matches

Would love to know what the other 4 options officially were and which 2 were the official remaining ones on offer. Seems a bit odd that Rovers were the only ones out of the 10 to vote with the first division clubs.

Lets see if they roll out streaming now for the 13 games and if so who will they use to do it. Have a feeling if it does go ahead, it will be the same model used in the trial last year by ourselves and Cork. Cannot see them coming up with something themselves after the shambles getting everything back up and running.
