No defence of Peak below, no excuse for (our best) players not being made good offers, even if the club is for sale, unless they are planning to slash budgets and go semi pro or target a similar finish to this season. I know for a fact, that one offer from a group not reported in the press was waved away recently without even negociations being opened. Furthermore, the owner of a club in the UK who has strong links to football in the south of France has also told me people in Monaco are worried about what could potentially happen to their ladies team. He cannot understand why Peak6 never used Etoro as sponsors of DFC, as that was their way into Monaco and seems to be a channel they are exploring in Holland. Good players on the books only makes the club more attractive to perspective buyers, however we are again seeing the lack of experience in their management and soccer know how. The only real football head in the original takeover group has walked away due to "diffferences" as he diplomatically put it and isnt returning anytime soon, he was however responible for getting Mike T back involved to try and guide the ould man and save a bit of what remains.

Onto Duffy, who was offered a 2 year deal in late 2020 and again at the start of 2021. He turned it down and opted for a one year deal himself. He left his options open and has taken the opertunity to return to Derry on less money (if bonuses are excluded from his current deal). Not only is he returning home but he is going to play for a manager who he would also consider a friend, something a number of players would not say about our current manager. The lad owes us nothing and all we can do is wish him all the best in the future, apart from when he plays against us.
Dont forget lads, we have a ready made replacement in Han (Bob ... SARCASIM)

On a side note, we as fans should get used to this feeling, as I know of 3-4 other players who have signed elsewhere, holding back the announcments. Higgins is also sniffing around at least 3 more players in our squad, target is investment from the owner this season and next and Higgin has to take them to Europe to earn money and make them self suffient. Plan sounds familar .....

It’s the 1st July 2020 and you’ve just been handed the club. I dare you to do a worse job over the next 15 months. I dare you to try and do worse job.

Its mental. We have\had the biggest wage budget in the league's history and have been picked apart for our best players by our rivals and replaced them with far more expensive but inferior players. And that's just the playing staff, the background stuff is way worse.

Duffy was offered a 2 year deal last year. He rejected it. He’s now taken a pay cut to go back to Derry . With Higgins and more importantly his best friend Fats going back , it was always going to happen.
Derry will cherrypick the best players from around the league, not too many LOI clubs in a position to offer 4 year deals. Let’s judge how successful they are in 5 yrs time

Surely there has to be a big concern around who peak 6 would sell the club on to. Let's not forget two dundalk fans handed over the keys of the club to these gobshites. And we were told not to worry, due diligence was done.
Now what due diligence will P6 do for the next owners... They won't give a fiddlers. The club is really in limbo now and unfortunately our previous owners carry a heavy burden.

Gonna be lit to see what the excuses are when the next player’s pre deal is announced. “Pat Hoban prefers the motorway between Dublin and Galway.” “Will Patching can get a direct flight from Derry to Manchester.” “Dan Cleary still has friends in Liverpool and wants to be closer to the ferry.” “Keith Long gave Darragh Leahy a lollipop when he was six.”

Vinny will be giving one of his crying interviews regarding Duffy to Derry and the noise around the club but he will defend peak6 to the hilt incredible.

Bigger worry is, one of the men who sold us is being linked with buying us back with a consortium. Might be time for the lads to come out and tell us just what it was they were promised / what Peak6 believed they were getting and what they received before they get involved once again.

I think a bigger problem faces us because no one wants to buy it and without Europe the club is worthless. If Peak 6 end up holdin on to it but don't actually want to even be there is gonna make this season look like a picnic. They should take the hit and transfer it to supporters club or something. These gonna be no one stupid enough to buy it. Its a huge task to even get oriel back functional

That's very unfair on Paul and Andy. There was nothing in Peak6's business dealings, or in their involvement in other clubs, to indicate there would be any difficulties. 2018 was actually quite successful, 2019 probably better. And let's be honest here, if someone wrote a film script along the lines of what has happened here, they would have been laughed out of the studio as being too far fetched. I'm choosing my words carefully here, but there is no logic to what the chairman does anymore, and realistically he shouldn't be left in charge of any football club. If this was the UK, I'm sure there would be enquiries as to fitness for office.

The plot of Major League, where the new owner of the Cleveland Indians wants to move the club to Miami and deliberately signs a shit team hoping it chases all the fans away, is actually less unbelievable than this nonsense.
