Reading between the lines of the statement, I think unlike previous years where P6 have thrown money at the first team, any real clarity on the playing budget is going to be heavily reliant on Season ticket sales.
ST seemed to referenced a number of times in the statement.
The only team for me.....

What makes you think we will have a very tight budget?
What makes you think it won't be?
I don't know either way but I haven't heard anywhere that the budget would be tight so was just trying to get more info

Good points about wastage . We can have a smaller , well paid full time outfit without Europe forcing a bigger squad .
but If our ambition is to become the next ..... Sligo ...not exactly exciting , Albeit respectable .
hopefully we retain some of the professionalism /hunger /ambition of 17, 18,19, some of 20 - alongside getting the community back .

If its a very tight budget then it's a clear out. MC has already spoken about keeping a core group together.
This!

I don't think anyone is suggesting we won't be on a reduced budget but I don't think that means we are out scouting the NEFL or the Summer league for signings we can afford. I can't imagine we will have a lower budget than we had in 2013.

IF the manager is leaving after tomorrow night, it's very poor form for the announcement to come out in the poublic domain in advance.

On the other hand it's not verified. He has a 50% chnace of being right. If he is wrong, he will probably say it was a change of heart.

As regards everyone's panic over "there's no guarantee it will be a full time set up", we're all being led by the nose here by someone who needs to promote his podcast. It's just stating the obvious, but in a way that implies negativity. The more contentious the things he says, the more people will listen in, subscribe, follow etc. Of course there is no guarantee, because his source couldn't tell him one way or another what the plan is.

Hands up anyone who thinks the new owners haven't already got next year's budget worked out? Calls were made to players on the night of the takeover. That's the point at which full time/part time becomes relevant, and not because of what time of the day the players train. The monweey makes it immediately obvious. I will say this. You will find it extremely difficult to attract players on a part-time basis from Dublin given the costs and travel time. You are also hardly likely to bring in loan players from the overseas and pay their accomodation costs just to sit around all day. A part-time squad will spend most of it's time in and around the bottom 4.

I thought the speculation was unnecessary myself. “Perth was on a short term deal and no word yet of a new offer” would have done. Vinny backed the old owners to the max so if his contract isn’t renewed it won’t be a surprise. Same thing happened Darius Kierans back then.

Also the maybe we’ll have loan signings / maybe we won’t be full time thing doesn’t add up. Loan signings from English professional clubs if there is any will be full time. I thought a better point made was that reduced pay can be sweetened with the security of longer contracts.

We’re not going to match the clubs who make Europe (or Derry) for budget when we’re not there but that should be the extent of a ‘reduced budget’. We have to target a return to Europe and you don’t need Wilfred Zahibo or players flown in from Korea to compete. You do need an assistant manager and a medical team though.

Cork City went from offering good contracts to Karl Sheppard to signing a load of players on loan from.England which ultimately relegated them.. They finished 8th.in.2019 and.budget.was slashed the following year and.they got relegated.

They still had a decent core of players the year they went down,Morrisey, Bennet McNulty

Dundalk need to be clever in who they're bring in..bringing in loans because they are from the Premier Leageu might not necessarily work but depends on the individual . Jaros a success at Pats

Would be nice if people would wait and see what the owners say in the coming days before speculating about budgets, managers or whatever. The lads are only in the door, they have removed JM, appointed a few and am sure are working hard in the background on things we dont know about.
Trainer - Show Vinny a bit of respect and let him get the game out of the way tomorrow. Once the season is over, we will know soon enough.
Signings / contracts - will depend on who the manager is next season and how much is available. Every manager will have players he/she wants to work with and the budget will determine it. Clear is, income will dictate this, the lads will not be taking a P6 approach of picking up losses ... so the more merchandise and season tickets sold this side of Xmas, the more we will have to spend. Think Andy mentioned all monies earned would go back into the club.

Would be some laugh if the new owners are making signings without a manager in place .... however I suspect, prior to the takeover the lads had a lot more in place than many people realise and are waiting to make announcments.

He did mention this, but it was more of an option question, like 'What are the intentions of the new owners, will it be part time football, full time on reduced budget and happy with mid table, or do we go for a league challenge'

Its obv not going to be the latter, but I think he was more asking about the options rather than giving his view.

Yeah fair point.

Owolabi being linked with a few clubs. He would be a handy signing if Dundalk got him.

Dont understand why he would go there considering the ear of words and constant jibes between he and bradzer over the years.

so far only rogers ( who is known to be anti perth ) who's reported likely exit of the manager/part time option ( no other rumours sources apart from repeating rogers opinion ) perhaps it's still in the balance , maybe other candidates/ plans unconfirmed etc
would be great to know which players/staff we're seeing for the last time tomorrow , but probably impractical to be fair.to new owners

who'd have thought there was a positive to the pre contracts! D & M will get a deserved tribute - would be Nice touch to get Chris on the pitch too.( Half time maybe )

Byrne confirmed back for rovers

Chris Shields imo got his send off from fans no need for him to on the pitch he's a linfield player now and it's Duffy and Fats night. Gannon Massy etc if your gone your gone.

Actually agree with this. Shields got his send off. We could have done with him staying until end of season. Compare to abuse Gannon got too a few weeks ago.
