Latvia have 10 World Cup qualifiers this year - 3 end of March, 3 first week September, 2 second week October, and 2 mid November. You have to release the player three days before the day of the first match.

So if the league starts on 19th as currently planned he’ll be available for the first match then miss 1-2.

He’ll miss 2 matches probably the first week of September, and probably another 2 second week of October, and 1-2 in mid November, which is when the league is provisionally supposed to finish.

The Faroes also have 10 matches, same schedule. So if we sign the centre half and he’s called up we can request postponements, though given we’re already going to be under fixture pressure that would seem impractical.
We could also be in trouble if Duffy's international clearance comes through, or Leahy makes the jump to the senior side.

I could be wrong but I think a match can be requested to be postponed if 2 or more players receive call ups from the first team squad. Normally happens with young lads getting under 21 call ups.

Bohs, Derry, and Rovers were the clubs who suffered with it last season. Doesn't matter what age group or international side, as long they are in the first team squad. While I always would like players to do well, I'm not a big fan of having current internationals in the squad, especially if - as expected - we are battling in all competitions. Postponements just add to the problems. Did both Rovers and Bohs decline a deferment of their respective games during one break and opt to play?

The dates (including advance 3-day player release before the first game) are as follow:
Matchdays 1-3: 21–31 March
Matchday 4-6: 29 August–8 September
Matchday 7-8: 5–12 October
Matchday 9-10: 8–16 November

Add in two days minimum recovery after the last game to each block, that’s 46 days out of the season that an international won’t be with the squad.

Hopefully Latvia and the Faroes will be dropping these lads!

Add on there whatever quarantine after travel that they may need as well later in the year

Well if Richie did sign for them it would swing the title very much in their favour. JM mentioned that he sees space for another MF, so if there is any truth in him returning I’d hope we’d make a good offer.

We should be more than capable of blowing rovers out of the water for any deal. It would depend on what the player wants himself etc. If it was towell for talk sake, does he think he had unfinished. business in oriel, a deep affinity for the club, or does he see a new challenge with rovers closer to home etc?
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

As with any player , money talks.

However, we as fans know what Richie did for us but that doesn’t mean the board or JM hold him in such high regard. Maybe they don’t see the point in offering more than rovers, unfortunately

Almost sure I read before the JM was on the look out for a 'box to box' MF. He would fit the bill, but the question still remains, why would RT want to come back to Ireland ? He would be a big wages at Salford, and surely if they want to offload, other clubs in same div will be able to offer him a deal?

Unless he absolutely wants to move home, and is finished with England, then again will p6 be willing to make an exception to the avg 1 year deals* being handed out, if any of this is true?

* I did hear Duffy was offered 2 years, but only wanted 1 to keep his options open.

I heard we’re going to sign a time travelling cyborg. Box to box midfielder. Can shoot from anywhere.

Alright, let’s tone it down a notch.
