This is a very good point. I just hope we don't lose one or two more players because of it.

Far too many IF's and BUT's even at the start of these games tonight for us to be a serious runner for europe.

It still won't dampen the carnival that should be next week, the end of P6 clutches at last and time to really move forward freely with everyone behind us in the new era and to finish the season off with a win.

Good few of us making a big night out of it, and that was even before the takeover was confirmed, now its great night to celebrate to look forward to.

Benson joined Pats last season when they weren't in Europe, plus Derry attracted a good few too same scene, its still a good challenge to join a club to 'qualify' for europe.

Have the FAI actually decided on the start date for next season? I heard a rumour that it was to be sometime in Feb in order to facilitate the internationals during the year. That would mean preseason would start quite early in January would it?

Northern Football Association will oppose All Ireland league https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news ... 26529.html?

I think it would have been a good idea, probaly the Northern Clubs worried about their Clubs missing out on European places. The Airtricity League is made up of just 1o clubs, with 4 rounds playing the same teams. Playing new teams makes it more attractive and better for attendances.

1. Anything remotely linked to us is politically untouchable at the moment. They are burning buses up there over the protocol. Imagine what would happen over a cross border league.

2. The UK is a footballing anomaly in that 4 regions are granted full status at both National and Club level. Better for the blazers to stay attached to the coat tails of the FA in case FIFA suggest a change in policy. I think we are doing well in that Rugby, Boxing, and Hockey have all island representative teams. The IFA will only be interested if we start to go downhill and they are on the up.

What is this article about . I haven’t heard a dickie about anyone having the slightest interest , certainly down South . It’s not that long ago that Linfield came to Dundalk & lost 7-1,
& I can recall the manager being very complimentary about Dundalk Fc.

Its about the All Ireland league as it says in the Article ,which won't be happening. In fairness Linfield are now full time and probaly wouldn't be hammered like that again. More of their clubs are planning to go full time, 4 or 5 clubs planning to redevelop their grounds. Good grants from Lizzy

NI clubs have no interest in travel, which is hillarious given the tiny size of NI, they seem to want to keep to greater Belfast games with as little travel as possible.

Sat 3pm and winter season would be two huge hurdles in any case.

Anyway we are slightly off topic, hopefully we will have news after the Derry game next weekend on the plans for 2022 from the new group.

They are as stubborn asses up North. You're right they would be hard to.change from Saturday 3 pm k/o and playing through the Winter.
Ulster says no.

Is the merchandise sale on in the shop or is it a fire sale job in the YDC like when CX sports left a couple of years ago?
