Crowd and atmosphere for Longford will be affected by this. Fri night in Oriel is a lot different to a Sunday afternoon and no matter what you say, that will affect our players unfortunately
I understand your point about Sunday afternoons but to tell you the truth I think our players have lost interest and it doesn't matter when they play. I hope they prove me wrong.................
To be fair, I think the players showed lots of fight in the last number of homes games and I’d be hoping for the same tonight.
They are professionals so playing on a Sunday shouldn’t effect them but they are also human and the atmosphere definitely won’t be the same.
I would be more concerned about only having Friday and Saturday to recover. The Drogs game is bound to be a hard ask.

Drogheda (A) has been moved from Friday 12th November to Thursday 4th November.

Longford (H) has been moved from Friday 5th November to Sunday 7th November ko 5pm.

Instead of having 7 days between Waterford - Longford - Drogheda it's now 6 days and 3 days. Also means a gap of 12 days to the Derry game.

Edit: Eventually worked it out. The u21s play on Friday 12th, expectation being that their keeper - David Odumosu - will be in the squad. It will mean that Jurkovskis and Nattestad will be available.

I was at the game WW and from what I saw, I think we all had our questions answered tonight. Plenty of shouting, giving out and haranguing the ref over his decisions. Players throwing themselves in front of balls and lots of running the channels. Waterford were very physical, but we used our experience when necessary. The Shed and the Stand gave standing ovations. It just really is a scandal if we lose the players who started and finished the game tonight.

If the Northern crowd get the takeover, you'd assume Magilton will stay involved. Rocky Road ahead.

It would be interesting to see Duff as manager in the League, if he decides to take the Shelbourne job https://t.co/cnrSd6AY8M?amp=1

If we win our three games we get 51 points and guarantee sixth. Fourth is doable if a lot of results go our way. Bohs would need to win 2 out of 3 to finish ahead of us on GD so draws with Drogs and Rovers would be perfect. Derry need to win 2 of their other 3 to finish ahead of us by a point so we need Waterford and Finn Harps to at least draw (maybe Waterford we want a draw there just in case). Then Pats have to win the Cup. Have to beat Drogs though which is 50:50 I’d say

I see

"2022 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals"

has been locked. Is someone about to get cancelled?

I see Paul Doolin has opted not to stay on with Athlone next year. Would be a nice fit for Ian Morris and a chance to prove that he can be the next King.

Maybe Vinny Perth will throw his name forward for Athlone, as he will be gone at end of season.. Though he probaly wouldn't want to manage in the first Division. John Caulfield had no issue managing in the first Division.

A return to longford perhaps? But give the man til the end of the season before diacussing his demise. Irrespective of if he is the right or wrong man for oriel, he came in steadied the ship with a squad for the moat part he inherited and wouldn't have signed if he had been kept on.

I'm just going by his recent interviews where he seemed to indicate he will be leaving at the end of the season. Longford job could appeal to Perth.
