36 game season . Our big problem is pre season ( lack of games ) . A long way to go & it is not a two horse race . We looked better than Rovers by a long way in second half . Keep the faith & this team will click in to gear . Cmon the Town .👍

We had enough chances to win that game. Hoban could have 8 goals already this season. I thought we played well in the second half. Stanton starting to get up to speed now. Should have been a penalty for each team in each half.
As I said last week , we can’t keep a clean sheet and that is what is killing us. Two poor goals to give away.
I know it’s 1 point in 9 but I do see some positives.

That Shamrock Rovers team hasn't much cutting edge. The team under Michael O Neill had a quality finisher in Gary Twigg.

They have a very good keeper though, which gives them solid look at the back. Towell arriving in July might give them a bit of spark in midfield, but they are an ordinary team. A few good individuals but mostly a solid hard working team.

Dundalk have probaly more flair players , but a kind of disjointed team, with a lot of new imports from different countries trying to settle. All of Shamrock Rovers players are Irish so not as long getting up to speed, then some of Dundalk players

Rovers players know what to do, they are coached and organised. Ours are disorganised and whatever the tactics and strategy is at the start is thrown out the window very quickly and then constantly changed.

Also, Rovers have a professional goalkeeper, we have Abibi.

And hopefully people all over the league saw tonight that Rovers are weak. They created nothing that we didn’t gift them. But it’s time the management committee tarted playing to our players’ strengths and stop trying to hammer them into a formation that doesn’t suit them. And if we can fly lads in from Korea and America, then we can afford the keeper we badly need in July and play Cherrie in goals until then.

There’s a shedload wrong, but we don’t have to be perfect in LOI. Sometimes not being incompetent is enough
Great post, but we need people to admit mistakes have been made. A goalkeeper that has played F all before signing and has been, lets say, SHITE since he signed is one for a start. Investing a lot of money in a squad but employing a coach who is way beoynd his remit or capabilities and also not looking after the basic things like OUR PITCH AND TRAINING GROUND.

I really thought JM on a 3 year deal would have sorted out a lot of things but maybe Daddy Buffolo is on the phone to him 24/7 and hes happy to pick up his cheque or check as the yanks say

Well lads newbie here and first post so go easy on me , disappointing result last night but encouraging signs in the second half as we dominated spells and created chances , what is clear is that rovers will drop points against the so called weaker teams this season and it will be a fairly open league , whether we can capitalize on teams dropping points and put a run together is going to be key , squad is the strongest in the league but that sometimes creates its own problems as you can clearly see the management have no idea of their best starting 11 or best formation to play , not sure starting young o kane was the right call ,he looks decent but a little lightweight yet and i think he would be better used as an impact sub until he starts to find his feet in the league , as for the keeper well its not looking good for him and doesn't look confident with ball at feet or handling which is the basics of keeping , management is all over the place and alot of the problems are self inflicted and its obvious they're out of there depth .

The problem is rovers aren't going to drop anywhere near the points we will the way things look right now.

That's it in a nutshell. Rovers are poorer than last season and will drop points for sure but we have 12 points in 13 games under current management. Where is the improvement going to come from?

At what stage will they say enough is enough and act? Perth was a penalty kick away from a clean sweep and got what 5-6 league games the following season and 1 round in the champions league. We are clueless in the league under the current regime. But I honestly believe now that, peak 6 have absolutely no interest in the league. The €120k is nothing and of no value to them. They don't care where we finish in the league, once we qualify for Europe and the aim is the group stages of Europe as often as possible. Americans are all about brand marketing, well the 2020 and so far the 2021 campaign are destroying our brand. Its our worst opening first 3 games in 50 yrs when we lost our first 3 games in the 1971/72 season. So the worst performance from a manager in a generation. That takes some beating considering we had Trevor Anderson at the helm. 3 wins in the league in 13 league matches since they took over last season. It's time to say goodbye to this leaderless management team. This isn't 3 games into it. It is 30 games into their management and nothing had improved. 30 games into a system that isn't working no matter how many times you change the personnel. To the Dundalk board over in the good old US of A please hire 1 manager who has all the UEFA Pro licences and knows a decent player. We had some excellent coaches and we were the envy of every club in the country for years. Every great sporting dynasty ends and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up again. But our descent has happened far too suddenly and far too rapidly. No point having the most expensive squad in the country, with some of the best players in the league, training in the best training facilities, when u have nowhere near the best coaching staff. Totally pointless. You don't need a phoneline to the dugout to figure that out for yourself Bill.
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

That would mean a stubborn old man would need to admit he was wrong. Fillipo was a baffling appointment that nobody outside of Hulsizer could understand.
