Dundalk v Bohemians | League Series 20 | Mon 27 September 2021 ko 19.45

Post by oldfogey » Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:04 am

Hard to believe that - despite wins for 3 of the bottom four - there isn't one positional change in the table. Once again, big ask stamina-wise against a Bohs side who will be smarting after being taken apart by Harps tonight. Really puts last Tuesday's result in perspective. I note Vinnie mentioned Will Patching suspended for Monday. Huge boots to fill. Not going to speculate who is back as I don't expect he will know himself until kickoff. Han and Amar are still 70 minute players so the kids are going to have to step up again. Unlike Sligo, Bohs will be a threat to the end as they will be desperate to get to third. After Tuesday's exertions I would have settled for 2 draws. We've already got 3 points in the bag, one more would be good.

According to Gerry Malone, LOITV have agreed that Perth will be in charge on Monday.

The game could continue our recovery or bring us back down to earth with a bang. Bohs have been ropey for a few weeks and conceding a lot of goals but they thrashed us last time out which they'll feed off. I really believe we have the core of a great team and when the key players are fit and motivated we can beat anyone in the league.

We're going to have a completely different looking starting 11 on Monday from the 5-1 thrashing probably, with no word on who's back from illness yet

Abbibi, Jurkovskis, Boyle, Shields, Dummigan, Stanton, Zahibo, McEleney, Duffy, McMillan, Kelly

Cherrie, Jurkovskis, Cleary, Leahy, Dummigan, Sloggett, Murray, ?midfielder, Duffy, Hoban, Ben Amar

He's brought Boyle back in with Jurkovskis dropping out and Leahy back to left back. Stanton is the ?midfielder.

Good looking side. Nicely balanced with Murray in the attacking role in midfield and Stanton and Sloggett holding. Is it the first game that none of Filippo's signings have started? Unless Stanton was a Filippo pick, was never sure.

Some fortune, but that was great

.....The media anti manager / club stuff from the usual heads on twitter is ( to be fair to them) proportionatly defending during our good spells. Throw in some faint praise - giving main credit to '' the players for coming together '' in tomorrow's articles / pods
Won't even start with some of the podcasters over the weekend .... One of them claiming credit himself!) for fixing one of our best farwards improved form by slaughtering him on the podcast.

Fans at the game really cutting through some of the lazy agenda stuff .

Real support , good times ahead if we hang onto key people ... Players / manger / officials behind the scenes .

We have a bright future

Great win, great performance and great support on a Monday night. Another 3 points Friday now or that effort and win tonight was a waste of time.

Question has to be asked ... is it Vinny, is it the players, are the lads playing for contract offers elsewhere or is it the Peak6 stats guy who is currently in Oriel? Regardless, finally we are seeing a team playing for each other and hitting some sort of form. Respect to all involved in the turn of fortunes both on and off the pitch. 3 points ... cant ask for more than that from a game.

Magic atmosphere yet again. Really special night. I thought it was interesting Talbot clapping the shed, it's rare you see that from an opposition player.

Ben Amar brings nothing to this team.
Once again a very competant goalkeeping display.
For us - more than most sides - home advantage is a HUGE advantage.
MOTM? I can't decide. Cherrie, perhaps.........
The Back of the Wall
They come in packs of 5 - and I need 6

Would never name you personally and didn't name the pod - enjoy the extra perspective the pod brings ...but if you listen back . ( And accounting for banter etc )You really did!
