What is the players motivation for avoiding relegation?

If I was a player I'm not sure I would be motivated to maximise the value of the club. Why put money in the pockets of owners who have treated me like sh1t?

Maybe play for professional pride and for the fans who backed you in every game over the years
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

Professional pride and not wanting a relegation on their CV. They were paid during Covid last year, weren't treated like shit then.

Had we 1 effort on target tonight, leahys header in the 1st half.

Friday night is massive now, but I am afraid to say I don't think there is the fight or desire In this team for a relegation scrap over the next 4 games or for a playoff against Caufields Galway.

Their goal was horrendous. It was like The Red Sea parting in front of Billy King and nobody came to close him down.

The result was predictable though as how can players be 100% prepared when 3 back room staff walk or are pushed in 2 days?
What management structure thinks it is acceptable that most of the back room staff are let go with 5 games to go and the club staring at relegation?
Are the media making attempts to contact Jim Magilton about this?

Am I missing something? Would the potential new owners not possibly back out of a deal if we got relegated? Do the current owners not see that or is it not the case??
