Drogheda Utd v Dundalk | League Series 34| Thu 04 November 2021 ko 19.45

Moving swiftly on.

It's a long long time since we travelled to - or even faced - Drogheda while below them in the table. They play Harps away on Monday night so their game in hand will be gone by Thursday, possibly with nothing to show for it. Bohs are away to Pat's in their back fixture on the same night. We could leapfrog to 5th on Thursday if the two results go the right way.

Not much point in speculating about Stanton's fitness as VP - rightly - keeps his cards close to his chest to avoid helping the opposition manager. Injury aside, Sloggett has nothing left to give at the moment, with Murray and Patching not far behind. Dummigan may be well have been held back last night as cover for midfield. If Sam is back, he should start, but I think Dummigan has a lot to offer in midfield, and we should rest whichever of Murray or Patching needs it most. Let Stanton play 8 with Dummigan playing at 5. (Yeah, yeah it's 6, but I associate Shieldsy and his shirt with the position)

Pitch is tight for wingers but I would stick with Kelly as he builds up match fitness.

What’s the story with parking ? I haven’t been to the drogs in a while. Still park in the hospital car park? How much is it?

It's been €2 an hour for some time. €4 dropped into bucket on the way out, as they don't want big numbers heading over to the pay station on the hospital grounds.

You would hope that even with our injuries we would be the fresher of the two teams on Thursday.

Drogheda by all accounts had a bit of a slog up in Finn Harps last night on a heavy pitch, so if we could nick an early goal it might knock the stuffing out of them.

Dummigan Cleary Boyle Leahy
Kelly Patching Stanton Murray Duffy

They will definitely be targeting this game for points given that they are in Dalymount on Sunday. Hyland will definitely miss the game although the (likely) remaining 2 game suspension probably won't kick in until after Sunday. I know he plays midfield but can't picture him. Would he be more of a poor mans Chris Shields than a Will Patching?

Or you can park on the main road out of town, 5 minute walk down to the ground, and probably a quicker getaway by the time you queue to get out of the car park.

Looking forward to this one, haven't been in the second worst ground in Louth for a few years, unusual for us to be neck-and-neck at the business end of the season

Theres a housing estate right beside the hospital car park which we park in if we need the hospital. Once you obviously dont block anyone's drive way.

Yes, last few times I've been there with Dundalk it's been full of Dundalk cars. There are housing estates in the vicinity as well

***TRAFFIC WARNING***

There are road works between Monasterboice and Killineer starting tomorrow, including a Stop & Go system and probable delays. Work is only 8.30am to 5pm but there are bound to be lane closures and speed limits. Probably best to exit at J10 instead of J11.

Evenly matched first half between 2 midtable sides. And it shows. Who are we wearing armbands for? Disgraceful song from our fans about Jim Magilton being a child abuser... No need for that kinda stuff.
