They are making quite a lot of indirect statements CR, club didn't hang around on Wed night with official confirm, then news on Colm M, and Jim M today, these guys have a plan, and the jigsaw is slowly coming together.

Supposed to be a press conference next week after they’ve got a feel for things.

Magilton should never have been employed in the first place, top class chancer/bluffer/cowboy/clown, take your pick? Thank God he has gone, I am already impressed with the new owners. Things are looking up. Now for a clear out of the likes of Abibi and his like. Hurray!

One of Magiltons first interviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtYpfFon7vI&t=539s

Which players did he really bring in. Cherrie was one, maybe Stanton? Though Fillippo was aware of Stanton also from working in the US

Wilfried Zahibo was a defensive midfielder and highest paid player.. A bit of a pointless signing at the time when Shields and Slogget were there

Magilton was a flop. Worse than a flop. The stories will come out probably but he was destructive and a bully, BUT the one thing you can’t pin on the guy is our disastrous recruitment. Cherrie was pretty much the only Jim signing in 2021 afaik.

So does that mean we still need a Director of Football? I think yes unless we get a Kenny-esque manager if we’re going to be serious about an academy, women’s teams and scouting talent.

Magilton was a flop. Worse than a flop. I will agree with that statement. However like FG before him, he was working with both hands tied behind his back. Only the people within Oriel will be able to answer this, however how much control did Jim really have? From what I am told by someone who would have had regular contact to him, he was only there to convey messages to Florida or Chicago. The role he signed up for, is not that he was allow to carry out.

Do we need a DOF .... we will only be in a position to answer that when the new owners let us know what the club structure and budgets will be for next season. Who is going to run things on a daily basis in Oriel, who is going to be manager (if it is Vinny or a young manager then yes we need a DOF, Fenlon etc. can do it themselves) and to what extent will Peak6 be involved bringing in loan players or using their stats database to bring in players. Will the manager be given players or will he have a say in who is signed on loan?

Yeah would depend on the budget.. Vinny Perth in his previous spell as manager spoke about wanting to work alongside a DOF , but JM wasn't the right person for the role.

Shelbourne coming up as a prompted club have one https://shelbournefc.ie/shelbourne-appo ... -director/

Wondering if we will see a return of Paul Johnston even in an advisory role. He is still with Stat Sports.

I am sure he is already active in the background advising the StatSports lads, sure they would be mad not to tap into his know how. We can only assume MC will be returning on a full time basis. Would like to see The Unit stay involved and then the rest is in the stars.
