I hope both lads can put this behind them and concentrate on football

Drink is no excuse! If they cant drink and behave they should quit drinking. I doubt GC has any personal opinion of the lads bar not liking the wanton damage of peoples property. I doubt people would be too impressed by such behaviour if it were complete unknowns caught on video.

I don’t think his comment was directed at me. I think it was for DundalkChampions. Well I hope it was.

Ah! Fair enough. That explains the type of response from Lilywhite66 though doesnt change much of what I said - drink is never an excuse. Its a shame that a MOTM performance and a winning goal are pretty much irrelevant after Monday night.

While clearly not condoning damaging people's cars, it could easily been the result of a row with a friend/partner and not been able to handle resulting strong emotions. In that case you aren't a scumbag just human. We all f*ck up. As for hoping the gardai beat them up when locked up in a prison cell - if that were to happen you would have the 'scumbags' you are looking for.

Not been able to handle their drink, acting like scumbags (one of them done for kicking mirrors on cars)

Hope the Gardai kicked the shit of them up in the station

My response was directed at DC. I do no 1 wing mirror on 1 car was broke which was his girlfriends but still doesn't make it right the sun newspaper had them smashing up cars in park street which is false, harsh calling them scumbags and wanting them hammerd up in the barracks. As said above I hope they can move on from this. I didn't see the same reaction on here of the 4 dundalk fans banned for throwing pint classes at cork fans that was caught on cctv and they weren't even arrested.

Nor was there anyone posting any comments in defense or mitigation of the glass throwers (quite the reverse). It is ironic that your attempts to diminish or rationalise the behaviour of the O'Connors may have provoked stronger condemnation than what otherwise may have been the case.

Well done Michael. Hopefully lessons have been learned from last weeks antics and both lads will move on and do what they are good at.

Paddy Barrett settling in as a cult hero at FC Cincinnati, but many will be surprised to learn that his current team mate, the ex Sligo player Richie Ryan, also played with him briefly at Dundalk

Stephen McDonnell has guided Warrenpoint to safety. Terrific achievement by the young man!
