Daryl came on as a substitute with 30 minutes to go and played really well and scored a well taken goal. The Manager praised Daryl after the game saying he trains hard and that was the best he had seen him play. He may not start the next game, but the Manager could be more likely to use him from the bench. Very pleased for the lad.

I have no idea what standard that is, or the pay levels, but it seems like a big step down. What a pity, he would have made a big difference for our chances next season.

I guess he wanted to get back home, and I know we like to tell ourselves that were playing at a half decent level , but it has to be a step down for a quality player

Funny - on the one hand we have McEleney going to Oldham and McMillan going to St Johnstone and people tell us they wanted to make a step 'up', but in Vemmelund's case going home was more important to him.
There's only one word for that - magic darts...

Vemmelund has essentially dropped out of football or is in the 'playing for fun' mode with that move, but he did say all along his reasons for going home was to be closer to family. Maybe he has found the Danish Hooga (hygge) = cosiness / happiness

Your posts giving first hand updates on Andy & Daryl are greatly appreciated and allows us to follow the lads progress in a way regular media cannot do.
Thanks.
Happy New Year

Re: Ex DLK players in UK & elsewhere
Daryl has played really well in his last 2 subs appearances and has fought himself into the Managers plans. Hopefully he’ll get more game time today at Barnsley. Plenty of PNE fans are wanting Daryl to start as he’s changed both games he’s come on recently and they like his direct style.
Unfortunately for Andy he is unable to get into the team at the minute as we are very strong in central defence. He’s been an unused sub a few times recently.
I would describe Daryl as being on the verge of the first team squad but it could go either way for him. I would describe Andy as a squad member, unlikely to play much but will have to be ready when/if an opportunity arises.
