As far as I can figure out, it seems that Brighton had two friendlies today - one at 11am behind close doors against Portsmouth, which ended 1-1. RT was on the bench - I don't think he came on

He was named in the starting line-up for this evening friendly against Charlton according to their twitter

He hasnt had much luck with injuries hitting at key times of the seasons. When it looked like he might get some game time off the bench with Brighton in their promotion season he picked up an injury and only started in a cup match, he didnt have all of last season's preseason due to injury and now could be a doubt for this preseason where he might have had a chance to impress although it would have been a big ask to break in to their premier league squad.

Reports this morning linking Ritchie with a loan move back to Rotterham with a possibility of a permanent deal being done.

Neil O'Riordan of the Irish Sun is obviously monitoring collymull's posts,

RICHIE RETURN Rotherham United hope to bring former Dundalk star Richie Towell back to the club after impressive loan spell
The Brighton ace helped the Millers earn promotion to the Championship and manager Paul Warne reckons he can get him back into Ireland contention

Second half sub Daryl Horgan contributes to an opening day win for Preston today. Hopefully he can go on to establish a regular first team place

Daryl Horgan came on as PNE's first substitution of the afternoon, replacing Barkhuizen with 20 minutes remaining.

Looks like Towell will be on the move - Brighton didn't give him a squad number

Rotherham could do a lot worse. They need something after being thrashed on the opening day. Paul Warne is a big fan

He was a key player for Rotherham last year, amazed that he wasn't lined up for a return as a high priority for both clubs. I wonder if Brighton are holding out for a half decent return on their investment?

Brigton local media are still predicting that Richie Towell will end up at Rotherham

Tomer Hemed, Oliver Norwood and Richie Towell are all strong candidates to return to the Championship before tomorrow’s 5pm deadline.

Defeats also in their first matches for Hull and Rotherham could heighten their interest in Norwood and Towell respectively.

I hope this is a good move for him - at a minimum it should ensure regular first team football, although the general standard presumably is below Championship level.

Best of luck Daryl

McMillan versus Horgan for about 90 seconds today in Scotland - McMillan on as a sub in injury time, Horgan on in with about 30 mins left.

Preston manager Alex Neill on PNE twitter

AN on Horgan: “He was told if he didn’t play enough games he would struggle to get in to the national side. That is very important for him and I couldn’t promise him the game time he needed. He’s a good lad and works hard, it was only fair to let him progress his career.”

AN: “Daryl is a top lad, it’s not as easy to be nice when you’re not playing every week but that’s his character. I don’t think he was able to play to his best because of the way we play, and sometimes different styles suit different players. He will do well up there.” #pnefc
