Re: Ground Standards
Was in oriel this morning dropping the wee one to dance classes in the YDC. Looked like the front of the stand getting a rendering job and probably a lick of paint.

Re: Ground Standards
Good to hear, the side of the stand looks dreadful from behind the town goal, hopefully that will be looked at also.

Re: Ground Standards
I'm glad my previous comment opened up some debate and prompted some good posts. I think most fans are pretty level headed when it comes to stadium plans etc and nobody is expecting something to happen straight away but it would be nice to see some sort of vision from the club on the medium and long term future.
Only plans the new owners have reveled is bumping up the first team budget and some vagueness about an academy. They're only here a wet week however and they do seem to be people that are interested in football and the club so we can only hope they get the bug and see it as a long term project

Have a look at Johnny Guitar's post above, where he suggests that the front of the stand may be getting some rendering and painting work.

Re: Ground Standards
It would be a help if say Mal brannigan or another board member gave supporters some sort of information on the plans for oriel, aside from some vague statement tell us the supporters something even if they are going to do very little,at least we would know. The lack of information from the board on plans for oriel is poor to say the least.

Why don't you volunteer to do some painting and tidying at the ground?

I doubt they know themselves what info they can give, a list of general maintenance and upkeep. Beyond that its as vague to them only 6 weeks on the go.

It is a lot more than 6 weeks ago -the new owners took over in January, the YDC fan meeting was in early February - but I take our point that it is not a long time to have fully worked out the plans. That said, Buster has a fair point that more information would be welcome. For example, Stephen Kenny mentioned in the Bobby Kerr / Newstalk interview that the club had plans for the YDC. Is there any plan as regards provision of toilets etc? Is there some rendering & painting in hand or planned? Do the club want to invite volunteers in for a Spring Clean.

Re: Ground Standards
I’d be interested to hear your opinions on the following. So we all want a new stadium or a redeveloped one. With the state of OP any redevelopment will take at least a season. We’d probably have to play away from home during this time which IMO would mean giving up on the league for a while. Do we really think we could win trophies playing away from home for so long? I reckon not.
So would you be happy to forgoe success to get a proper stadium?
