He was obviously saving it for against Carlile on bit of Roddy Collins wind up lol, scoring against a team at a level that Roddy failed to manage sucessfully at!

Patrick Hobans brace against St Pats last night has him closing on in more records

James Rogers also tweeting that this takes him "to 13th in the all-time goalscoring list having overtaken Mick Fairclough tonight"

Does anyone have the details for either goalscoring records list?

James Rogers
@jamesdundalk

That double tonight for @PaHoban10 takes him to 55 league goals for Dundalk moving him ahead of Paddy Turner and Turlough O'Connor (both 54) into fourth place in the club's all-time leading goalscorers list. He's now 14 away from equalling the record

I think on different record Hoban is ahead of Seani Maguires excellent goal scoring run of last season that won Cork the title before his departure to preston but not sure.

He passed out Sean Maguire last week - he bagged 20 league goals for the 2017 season even though he moved to Preston near the end of July.

Those now in his immediate sights from recent seasons on 22 league goals are Gary Twigg (2012) Eamon Zayed (2011), and Jason Byrne (2009)

Next targets will be Gary Twigg from 2009 on 24 league goals and Richie Towell from 2015 with 25 goals

There is no obvious reason why he cannot surpass all of them

The club league goalscoring record is 70 by Joey Donnelly.
Hoban is now on 63

Are you sure JG?

The soccerbase.com stats you linked to don't seem reliable - for example they have Pat Hoban down for 22 goals this season instead of 21

The tweet from James Rogers mentioned earlier says
That double tonight for @PaHoban10 takes him to 55 league goals for Dundalk moving him ahead of Paddy Turner and Turlough O'Connor (both 54) into fourth place in the club's all-time leading goalscorers list. He's now 14 away from equalling the record

If that is correct it would put the all-time record at 69 goals. Pat could possibly close a gap of 7 goals in the 11 remaining league games, but if James Rogers stats are correct the 14 that he suggests is a very long shot for this season.

Sorry Eziekial my interpretation of the 63 is incorrect. That's Hoban's career league goals.

The 70 leagues goals for Joey Donnelly is on page 2 of cmon the town but page 41 of it has 69 for Joey. I don't know which figure is correct

Think it was 19 Marvin they said he beat Peter Hanrahan's best which I believe was 18... But Peter achieved his in the premier division and I think Martin's was first division.
