I agree that the side Cork are stronger this year. How long it takes them to find their rhythm will play a big part in the destination of the title.

It'll be interesting to see how Maguire plays.

It looks like Francie is preparing himself for a defeat tonight.

I wonder if JC and the Cork team have ambitions beyond snatching a point tonight

Wasn't really preparing myself for a defeat at all tonight. Have a look at what I said. Thought it's only a matter of time before this new city team blended together but very confident we will put it up to ye more this year. We will. Not saying we will win but it will be closer this year. And maguire is such a welcome addition. Looking forward to seeing ye all in turners cross.

He wasnt happy at Dundalk and maybe understandably so with limited game time. Last season when set up with a prolific midfield it was tough to break in to the side. He has done well for Cork so far this season but at least he will get a runners up medal to go with the winners medal!

Francie, Sean has done well and fair play to him but you don't win the league in June,Cork have won nothing under caufield and he's under pressure to deliver this season there is a lot of football to be played yet!

Spiderman definitely league isn't over but it feels unlike last couple of years we are capable of beating ye. To have 6 points from ye and still be behind shows how ruthless ye are.makes for an interesting league. No doubt the game in oriel will be massive. Maguires needed a run of games it seems and ye couldn't give that to him and why would ye with how things were going for ye last year. Rest of league will be very interesting standatd set by both club's so high. Any slip seems big. Enjoy it

Yep - you are spot on Francie. There is no doubt that Cork have the hex on Dundalk this year. But it is early days. We are top of the League and in all fairness - playing badly. Eeking out results, when sometimes we haven't really deserved them!! But as they say it's a sign of a great team than wins when they are playing badly.
Personally speaking - if Dundalk don't win the League - l'd love to see Cork win it!! They have a great set up and always had, and a great fan base.
The 'only' thing to dislike about Cork City is John Caulfield. The pressure must be getting to him a wee bit.
He is becoming a little Pat Fenlon who would not be a very nice role model. He is becoming very 'knackery' on the sideline and is not doing himself any credit at all.
He needs to cool it a bit. Dare l say it - he could learn from Stephen Kenny.
Apart from that wee point - you have a great set up on Lee side.
As long as the bleedin' Dubs don't win the League - l think all us country boys will be happy if it goes to the 'stix'.
So Francie - enjoy the summer break and no doubt we will do battle again, later in the season.
Give my love to Cork - and 'to all the girls l loved before' - Julio Igelesias. A different era!!
Enjoy the summer and the good weather.
as ever

Darryl didn't look great to me on Fri night. I hope his hand is ok after hitting the dugout when taken off. He gave it some whack.

Or just indestructible for the same reason! Horgan give little away with emotion so while unusual it is great that players want to play or feel such frustration that they have had a poor outing by their own high standards. Ambition for a 3 in a row hasn't waned if Horgan's reaction is anything to go by. Or maybe he was winding himself for a pop at Shields for the red card :p

Ah francie your back fair play to Cork and Maguire we can't win them all but unfortunately you can't get Champions league football by winning the Cup that's the one that really counts?? enjoy the Celebrations we have the the European cup games coming up to focus on.

Let's be brutally honest here francie, if we'd had 9 days to prepare for today, the game would never have gone to extra time. It was quite telling that Cork were also running out of steam at the end despite the longer buildup. The only player with energy was Maguire, but then his base S&C was done in Oriel last year. Despite his goals nobody really regrets his departure. He hasn't got the kind of temperament that fits our dressing room.
