Interesting that SK said he will only consider signing someone who can improve the first 11 - not a squad player.

Sadlier and Connolly again linked as per the Irish Sun today, player plus cash deal meant to be the offer for Sadlier and cash for the other.

Cork also in the hunt for Sadlier.

The Sun Says Mountney & Ciaran OConnor are they players rumoured to be involved in the Swap deal for Sadlier..
If we wouldn't pay the 100k for Connolly at the start of the season , its hard to see us paying it now, Plus Bray would probably look for more now ,considering he has signed a new contract.

Rumours going around that Bray may be struggling a little with wages, not sure if that's true or not, they may be interested in a much lower deal.

Interesting if he is going for both of them, but probably more realistic to say we might get one, Sadlier would be my choice, but Connolly still has loads of potential.

No news on a striker, he seems quite loyal in that area to retain Kilduff.

I heard on the grapevine and with a huge ladle of salt that Hoban is signing.

Seems to be something in this now Johnny, we'll have to wait and see.

Sadlier could be a massive signing for the club. Fantastic player and would give us a great chance of regaining our title. With McEleney finding form again and Duffy getting better each game we'll have a real attacking threat from midfield.

It would be very hard to judge the Hoban signing. If he gets close to the player that left us we'd all be delighted.

I'm torn on Duffy, he can be very good (although don't remember him having a good game against any of our rivals) or he is awful, doesn't put himself about either or seem to have the will to get to the ball first. Horgan wouldn't think twice about going for a 50/50

He was anonymous against Cork and was very poor against Drogheda, even when they went down to 10 men. He started the season well but has gone backwards.

Duffy was dreadful v Cork, I can still see him pulling out of that tackle on the stand side, he was ok v Drogs, but he has got to get into consistent form, and he also needs to improve his game and to be much more influential. He has the talent though, no argument there.

So any news today from anyone on any further links with new players?

wait a minute Niall that's not the way the song goes!!

Agree Duffy has been major let down. If he has bags of potential they must be teabag sized.

Horgan got 5 goals in his first season with us and was substituted off by Kenny 16 times in 33 league games.

Duffy already has 5 goals this season, I would reckon he will reach double figures and will be our top scoring midfielder. Give him a bit of a chance and give SK time to get the best out of him.

Jesus that's very harsh Niall, fair enough he can be inconsistent but along with his awful displays he has put a few good ones in too, I agree that he needs to commit to tackles more and do more dirty work but I think he's a good player with the potential to be a star for us, but maybe not until next season, he is only 22 after all. He can hit a decent free kick too!
Mon the Town!
